Maybe because of this.... in 12 games, Leonard Fournette rushed for 1,953 yards. The only SEC running back ever to do better was Herschel Walker with 1,975 (I included his bowl game for the 12th game as it should be). Not Bo, not Henry, not McFadden, not anyone. If LF sucks so bad, why didn't anyone else ever do better?
McFadden shared a LOT of carries with Felix Jones and Peyton Hillis. Going off of memory, probably 1500'ish rushing yards to 2 backs not named Darren McFadden. That might explain some of it.

Michael Dyer was a damn fine running back. I don't think he deserved to be on the list, but saying he is "shite" is retarded.
I just agreed with SEC rant user Jamal Sanders. Take it up with him.

Part of the reason they were so lowly ranked was LF...
Totally false. Eastern Michigan Texas Tech were the bottom two rushing defenses before they even played LSU. Not sure where the others were ranked.
But using that logic, the reason Bama was ranked so high in rushing defense was because they got to play LSU and LF7.

curious as to why everyone is riding Fournette's dick all of the sudden. Dude rushed for less than 50 yards on about 20 carries against Bama. He sucks compared to the rest. Outside of strictly rushing Ingram.
Dude, not a single player on that list had to run against that bama defense.
So which is it, y'all were either good under Shula or you sucked. Because D fad only played against Nick's 07 team.

Syracuse was a top 5 run defense going into the LSU game. UF was one of the top defenses in the country.
I haven't read this thread, but are you arguing that LF isn't one of the best SEC backs in the last decade?

Hurd ran for over 90 yards so he must be the best.

By saying Leonard sucks because he didn't do a lot against bama is asinine. Considering none of those backs above him played the bama of today. Two are from Bama.

I'm not arguing that even though I feel there are a few better. I'm arguing against this
being significant because of the disproportionate number of down right terrible rushing defense he got to play.

Anyone who says Fournette sucks should no longer be able to discuss football or any other sport in general. And probably anything else too.

The Bama backs had awesome lines and don't think any of them had the take it to the house ability of the others.

I would take Jacob Hester over almost any back in sec history. Dude just got positive yards every play

We were mediocre under Shula and McFadden had success against us in all three games he ran against our defense.
2005: 8 carries for 95 yards and 1 TD
2006: 25 carries 112 yards and 1 TD
2007: 33 carries 195 yards and 2 TD
That '07 team of Saban's was ranked 33rd in the nation in rushing defense. Since 2008, Alabama has finished ranked no worse than #8 in the nation in rushing defense.

1. McFadden
Mizzou whipped his "mighty" arse (105 yds/1 TD) and made him like it in the 2008 Cotton Bowl 38-7.
And piglets, I don't want to hear how not having a HC effected the #1 McFadden. It's called...hand the ball to the boy and let him run if he's so damn good. He did it to the SEC all year...but not Mizzou.
Hell, Tony Temple is still running through the piglets for a Cotton Bowl record 281 yds and 4 TDs. Okay, I'll give you the "no HC" excuse on this stat. Your defense dared us to run on y'all and we did. Our pass game would have cut y'all up too. Pick your poison.

All those games #1 McFadden did it to the SEC. But not to Mizzou that fine day.

I mean, I guess congratulations. He still had over 100 yards and 5 ypc. That was an embarrassing showing by Arkansas but McFadden tried to carry that team.

I think, just as a pure runner, Lacy was the best back we had in the Saban era. He also got to run behind the best line and share time with Richardson and then Yeldon, so it was set up pretty well for him. But he ran over, around and through people.
The 2nd half of the 2012 SECCG vs Georgia is one of the greatest running back performances I have ever seen.
