I also dont like to include interim years since the interim guy had no control over recruiting, hiring, or offseason programs before the year starts but it is what it is.

I never have understood including the interim games in a coach's record. They aren't hiring or making any decisions at all that impact the future of the program. Their one job is to win games. They aren't facing the pressures of building a program.

The only real impact an interim has is playcalling but how much can you really change a system midseason?

That's the whole thing. They're job is to win games, but for the most part they are doing it with someone else's staff and system. They have very minimal input on the overall direction.

We were in our head coaches' second season with a first year OC, first year quarterback who had a seperated shoulder and didnt spend the offseason with the team, and an offense with minimal experience.

It’s that same strategy of choosing only favorable criteria that allowed them to go back in history and claim 5 or 6 more titles.
