It was a really boring first week compared to past tournaments, very few interesting games. I guess that's the price of the NIL era.

The flip side of boring first weekends with chalk results is that the Sweet 16 forward are generally bangers.

It’s hard to know if this is signal or noise just because of one chalky tournament. Chalky tournaments have happened before. Give it a couple more years and we’ll see if it’s a trend.

That's fair.
Side note: three guys from the Florida Atlantic team which made the Final Four are in the Sweet 16 with three different teams. NIL killed the mid-majors.

Yep - no doubt about that (though FAU was partly due to May leaving as well).
The small schools that succeeded were the ones who did their own portal hunting like McNeese.

One of the reasons I was cheering for Colorado State. Need more upsets.

I remember voicing that opinion back when we got Wendell Green out of the portal a few years back. The mid-majors are basically a farm system for the high majors now.
