No doubt it is tougher... we have an up hill battle 24/7, it makes us better IMO

The funny thing is that the high school coaching is pretty good compared to a lot of other southern states. Crazy how they constantly pass over in state qbs.

I would try to forget about LSU too if they made me quit.

I don't think there's any question about that… Auburn is in the same state as the most dominant football program of the last decade and maybe ever. But it ends up being sort of a strength in the long term, because it makes us work harder than anyone else on the recruiting trail, in facilities, coaching style, etc.

I love Spurrier, but he's obviously still butthurt that LSU passed him over for Les Miles.

Greg McElroy: I'm curious to how people evaluate that Texas A&M job, is it a sleeping giant, or is it a tough place to, how would coaches evaluate that Texas A&M job?

HBC: I'll tell you the way I sort of look at it and a lot of people do - the 3 top in the SEC West are Alabama, Auburn and Texas A&M and then over on the East side Georgia Tennessee and Florida. Now certainly these other schools are certainly making dents into that but just for general perception those six schools should have, you know, just a little bit of an edge but the right coach gets at those other schools and, uh, it can change. Financially I think all six of those schools are right there at the top, facility wise and all that, recruiting territory is very good for all six of those. So A&M, they should do better than they've been doing, is what most people think.

Spurrier is permanently butt hurt that we didn't offer him the job.

Well LSU and Aggy have both been irrelevant in the 7 team SEC West. So I guess the next thing to rank them on is facilities and recruiting.

You have to win an SEC championship game to be considered among the Big 6. LSU has won it 4 times. Texas A&M not so much...

Alabama
Auburn
Georgia
Mizzou
Florida

Those are the Big 5 of the expanded SEC. Only teams that can win their division. And they've all won it twice.

This isn't a troll, it's the truth.
