barnett had 8

Actually he had ten. Though 9 of them came against UK, Vandy, USC, and OM.

If you take out OM and his three sacks, which is inpressive, he had 7 against the four worst teams in the conference including Florida.

No need to lurk much more as looney as this one is getting. No one has yet to say that Nkemdiche is not a good player or wont be a draft pick(which is all yall have argued). They're just seeing he's not any where near the best player in the SEC which he's not because he hasnt produced any of that claim. The only one's considering him to be the tops in the SEC are Ole Miss fans on here. Nkemdiche isnt even the best player on your team, Tunsil? The player that has honed his craft better than anyone else in the SEC is CamRobinson, most would agree with that.

ETA: You cant call some one the best player in the SEC because they could be or have the potential to be. That wouldnt make any sense, there's a reason the SEC defensive player of the year goes to the guy that dominated his stats.

He got knocked out of the LSU game last year and missed at least two games in '13 w/ one being against Idaho (stat padding time). Also, its not a good idea to judge DT's w/ stats especially one that gets a lot of double teams. I wouldn't trade Robert for any other DT.

I was replying to the guy that said Nkemdiche wasn't a top 5 SEC DT. That's saying he is not a good player.

Give me one reason he should be listed as the best player in the SEC?

I never said he was the best. He's one of the best though.

Should it not tell you something that only OM fans regard him as a great player?

He's on medial all whatever lists because of hype. Hes a possible first round pick because of "Measurables"

Nothing regarding production because he simply doesn't have it.

All I'm saying is, you said Tunsil has honed his craft, but disclaim Nkemdiche's craft. Nkemdiche's role on our defense is to eat up the OL. He was the main reason our defense was the best in the nation this year. Take any player off our defense, we don't miss a beat last year...except Nkemdiche.

Horrible list. Williams in the top 10 is a joke. If he was that good he would be working out with his NFL team now and not Arkansas .

This is funny coming from a Mizzou fan. Hasn't every fanbase told y'all that y'all suck each year? How many times have y'all made it to the SECCG? Pro tip, fans know their team the best.

So neither c4st nor the OP want to even attempt to back up their contention that Garrett sniffs Barnetts jock, let alone is better.

Barnett is Nkimdiche and Garrett put together. The stats provided in this thread back that up.

DJ Humphries and Laremy Tunsil were playing LT for 4 of those 10 iirc.

Corey Robinson, South Carolina's LT, was drafted as well. So 7 against would I would call very solid competition.

Maybe not as impressive as Garrett's 8 against Lamar, Rice and Louisiana Monroe, but not bad.

That such a ridiculous line of thinking. I'm sure you thought Melvin Gordon was a horrible player because he decided to come back for his senior year.

Sorry, I posted this thread and within 5 minutes it was four pages deep, I missed your post. Please comment on this with it, so I can laugh at how all you use it stats to claim someone is better.

My op was more directed towards Jones jr. However, a DT role on any defense is to plug running lanes or contain the QB usually 100% of the time. It doesnt make sense for them to tell him to distract the OL running backs would just run right by him. After saying all that, I will be looking out for what nkemdiche does this season, who knows he could bust it open this year. But thats not the argument, the entire argument is why he is not the best player in the SEC.

He was the main reason our defense was the best in the nation this year

But where did that come from? #4 SEC, #13 Nation

Barnett DRASTICALLY outperformed Garrett in the games against their three common opponents. That really ends the argument right there.
