Here's his justification for UF not being on the list:
quote:

They have never traditionally dominated, nor will they in the future. Quick preview: Florida's assistant coaching ranks have been decimated and their leader faces serious health issues. Yes, they've had terrific success, but I don't think they're poised for success into the next decade. I think they're poised for a downfall. BK

That a-hole should be kicked in the head.

a lot of Florida ex-offensive coordinator and MSU head coach Dan Mullen as a recruiter and as a coach.

I think he'll be able to land Mississippi's abundant in-state talent much easier than the rival Rebels. The Ole Miss' head coaching position has become too much of a stepping stone (or a chopping block) for entrepreneurial head coaches, and I don't think Houston Nutt will be an exception.

Plus, just based on Mullen's ability, I think the Bulldogs will be the more successful team down the road.

Of the two, Mullen is the one who has won the national championship, and based on the Gators' struggles under a different offensive coordinator, I give Mullen a lot of the credit.

Off of a very solid recruiting class and some serious momentum in the Egg Bowl win, I think MSU is poised to dominate recruiting in, statistically, the country's most-talented state.

If Mullen can expand the recruiting parameters to the rest of the south and beyond, all the better.

This guy is either a huge UF or State homer, or knows nothing about Mississippi State and SEC football.

That is what you will have to do. Mullen actually managed to be out-recruited in-state rather badly by Nutt this year, after all his big-mouthed talk and despite Nutt's reputation for being a mediocre recruiter......

I can hear the State argument if it is backed up well, but the guy's premise is that Dan Mullen is going to be at State for a long time.

If he knew anything about the SEC, he'd know that State is one of two SEC programs with an all time losing record.

Florida not being on the list is beyond silly.

There's a reason people on this board are not fans of bleacher report.

Bleacher Report is not a legit site, why we keep getting links to it is beyond me. I don't care if they ranked MSU or not, the whole site is a sham.

MSU will be lucky to finish in the top 30 next year recruiting. They won't dominate in-state recruiting or get Brassell or Singleton (Top 2 players in MS, although CJ Johnson can be argued here) and they have virtually no history of getting top out-of-state players to come there.

Epic.Fail.

Probably Nick Turner out of Atlanta, back in 2002; Croom eventually kicked him off the team....

But who cares?

Clemson

This is with absolute total bias that I say this but Clemson!? Really? Sure they have a good recruiting class coming in now but they're losing everything productive on offense and will struggle for the next year or so. Top that with Garcia being a Jr next year facing either a freshman QB for Clemson or Kyle Parker (who was Clemson QB last year) Then SC should beat Clemson the following year in Clemson making it 3 in a row.

Losing patience with Dabo who will have Bowden-like seasons of not rising to expectations adding to that unlike Bowden.. Dabo will not have a winning record vs SC will get him fired (most likely unfairly) before he has time to build. Thus only damaging the chances of Clemson "dominating recruiting" for even 1 year.

ADD on top of that, and this goes for MSU, UNC and others as well. Is that they are wedged in the south, meaning yes they're are great players every where and every team will have a decent of amount of good players but they also compete on an annual basis with UGA, UF, LSU, 'Bama, UT, Auburn, and even Miami and FSU. Perhaps dominate is too strong of a word because for any one school to just dominate recruiting in this area is absurd.

Dabo has always been a great recruiter. He was one of the best on staff, when he was at Alabama.
