Have any of you been to the towns mentioned? I mean, I could see why someone would say "haw haw that town sucks" if someone just throws out some random town in Indiana or some other far away place
But maybe it's actually really nice

I've been to Redmond many times. It's decent, but there are many superior places to live in the Seattle metro area. I'd think that holds true for any ranking metric other than maybe jobs per capita thanks to Microsoft

Many of them. The list is a joke. In many cases it's a list of "best places to drive a minivan with a stick figure family on the back". If you've got the money, why on earth would you rather live in Pflugerville than Westlake? Or McKinney instead of Highland Park? It's biased toward minivanland. It's not really BEST to live in cookie-cutter suburbia, in many cases it's just the only thing you can afford. It's best to live in the closest-in residential enclave of the coolest city. This list would tell you North Jersey is better than Manhattan.

Not only have I been to one of the towns mentioned in the top 20, I live there.
Every single fricking thing mentioned in the explanation is completely false. Every. single. thing. The crime statistics, median home price, etc. I showed a couple buddies at work where our home town is in the top 20 their jaw dropped and they started laughing hysterically. No offense to Auburn fans, residents or alumni but I wouldnt put too much stock in those rankings. Where I live doesnt belong on any list like this whatsoever and its top 20.

I mean I can say that most of the towns in the south wouldn't belong in the top 50, but some should be on the top 100

Auburn? 40 minutes from Montgomery and Columbus, less than 2 hours from Atlanta and Birmingham

oh...well when you drive 35 in the safety lane, everywhere is hours away.

What a joke. I have been to most of the towns btw, they all fit the profile of relatively inexpensive suburbs to bigger cities.
Pflugerville is a joke beyond all to be on the list. It's cheap and close to town, that's about the extent of the pluses. It's cheap because the school system is mediocre and the land is flat and uninteresting compared to most of Austin. No one who could afford to live elsewhere would want to live there. It's just a bunch of cheap houses off I35.
McKinney is certainly nothing special compared to a dozen other Metroplex suburbs. Sorry but Frisco is no paradise, the best places in D/FW are Southlake/Westlake imo where you at least have a little scenery and considering Southlake has won 4 straight state titles they aren't a bad place to raise an athlete.
Newton is just another suburb of Boston. Nothing really special about it.
