I'm sure he is.
My post was to just put some context around the comment that Jackie won at State. I don't want the rant to romanticize those years without regard for what actually happened.

It really was a fluff piece and I felt its only point was to try and make me feel bad for croom,
If they wanted to tell Croom's story, they would have interviewed local media instead of finebaum and lowe. ESPN knew what they were doing.

What, you dont like red indians? You racist?

Sherrill CHEATED at State

That's a lie. The man was a good speaker, and he ran his program with class. Even after his two biggest wins, both vs his first love in Alabama, he reminded his players to win with class.

He was even better at telling them to lose with class, and telling everyone that his players weren't good enough to win much.

Jackie won more than 8 games 4 times in 13 years at State. If you move the target to 7 games it is 7. He won 5 or less 6 times.
Jackie was 75-75-2 at State.
that 75-75 includes a couple of forfeits we actually won. Jackie had some ups and downs, but he had some really good seasons and got us to Atlanta. Not to mention his awful last 3 seasons really skew the numbers.
You guys post State's all-time record all the time and how it's below .500- 75-75 is better than that

Is it possible to romanticize rampant cheating that resulted in mediocrity?

I bet every coach's record would look pretty good if we took some bad years out.
Come on man. It skews it because he blew in those years. Win more games, get less skew, Jackie.
Also, there is no "skew." No measures of central tendency were presented.

I'm sure your 4th grade education has provided you with much more eloquent speaking skills. Stupid old racist frick.

Insinuating that he was asked to compromise his morals but that he refused is an absolute joke. He signed a cornerback while he was in JAIL.
By all accounts he was lazy, and that was his downfall. A SEC coach working 8-5 is not going to cut it.
Also, I witnessed first hand at the Georgia Tech game in ATL, that Croom (who had been on the job 5 years) did not know the clock rules of college football. Croom = Nice guy but horrendous coach.

Winston Churchill say it huh?
He was a tool and a shitty head coach

Good. MSU fans wouldn't know good football if it bit them on the arse.

No he wasn't.
He also didn't have the NCAA in town about to drop the hammer.
Mississippi State has had TWO 10-win seasons in its entire history. TWO.
Big wins under Croom:
Florida (2004)
Alabama (2006)
Auburn (2007)
Alabama (2007)
UCF (2007)
Arkansas (2008)
Big wins under Mullen:
Georgia (2010)
Florida (2010)
Michigan (2010)
Wake Forest (2011)
Auburn (2012)
Michigan (2010)
Mississippi State fans are idiots.

At least he didn't get in front of the media and say blatant lies like Mullen does. But I guess Mullen gets a pass until he starts losing.

Well at least you poked eye holes in your little white hood so you can see to type.
Wait, no. That's not a good thing.

Why did you send that anonymous letter to Coach Croom after he was fired?
