Their entire argument is literally "Beacuse Bama".

You're an idiot. Delusional is thinking #2 Alabama drops below #8 Ohio state with identical records. You're the pigeon on the chessboard.

I don't even mind them trying to make an argument about them getting in without 4th&25 but when you say shite like "cause Bama is Bama" you just need to leave the conversation.

Maybe 30% chance...We get in...Not being arrogant Bama being Bama does count for something.

Shaun Alexander could probably make a case for being on the list. LSU fans should be really aware of his skills.

Him carrying Alabama in the Florida game in '99 is one of my favorite memories, and despite being injured lead the nation in scoring that year (scored rushing, receiving, and even had a kickoff return for a TD). Who knows if he had been healthy the entire season what would have happened.

But they want to argue about a title (1964) handed to them by sportswriters who never saw both teams, or even saw them play.

How so?

We saw what the committee did last year in regards to jumping a blue blood (Ohio State) over TCU. They went with the bigger program.

Same thing would have applied to Alabama.

I've seen this exact scenario happen. LSU went from #7 to #2 jumping the #1 and # 2 teams from the previous week. Both had identical records as LSU, by the way.

Keep trying to tell me how delusional I am.

Ohio State had a better record than TCU and won their conference outright.

That is not a fair comparison at all

Actually, we will never know how that would have shaken out, but after doing the math, Henry likely would have been 1st anyway. If you subtract the yds Henry got in the SECCG and 2 playoff games, he has 1797 yds. He then would have needed 157 to pass what Fournette had (1953). Since Bama's bowl would have come after LSU's I am sure, having a number to shoot for, he would have still gotten first. Still one game more than LF had to work with though =)

Had LSU beaten West Virginia and Missouri?

No. Try another one.

McFadden ran for over 200 yards at #1 LSU in 2007. Has any one player ever taken over a game like he did that day? Not in my lifetime.

Shaun Alexander mocks your concept of "taking over a game".

291 yards on 20 carries and 4 TDs. Despite our QB being 6-18 for 61 yards and sacked 7 times. LSU literally knew he was going to run the ball and couldn't stop him. As a freshman.

Not exactly some scrub LSU team either - they finished 10-2, their only other loss was to #1 Florida.

That said, I don't know how well he did in bowl games. I do know that beating the 2007 LSU team was impressive.

That's a little better. It doesn't explain why LSU jumped UGA, who had the same number of losses. They didn't lose.
