But if I was going to make up a list, I wouldn't have added some of the "fruit of the Month Club" coaches on the list. O'Brien wouldn't have gotten a look, same with Clarke.

If you listen to the podcast link in the OP, Tubs tells a similar story, but it’s slightly different.
In his version, O called Tubs directly, another GA subsequently left that same day, and Jimmy Johnson said it was okay to hire O from Arkansas as that guy’s replacement, because he (Johnson) was an Arkansas guy himself.
Based on SidewalkTiger’s post, I assume the GA that left was Bill Johnson?
