#6 was Tony Moss. His real go to was Wendell Davis #82.

Get a room you two. I created this thread to condemn Tommy hodson, not praise him.

Hodson was a four year starter. Did he miss a bama game one year? Don't remember him ever being injured.

He was the first good LSU QB i remember growing up. Nothing amazing in retrospect but he had some nice moments.

Crazy to think he was a 4 year starter but only has about 600 more career passing yards for LSU than Burrow does

Wendell Davis was LSUs best player in 86 and 87. Slippery receiver with great hands. Elite player. Career cut short by a bad injury on an under thrown ball by Jim Harbaugh, of all people. Shame.

Davis made Hodson look better than he was as a FR and SO. Hodson had good not great arm talent, which he made up for with a lot of poise and confidence. Not unlike Burrow. Lack of arm talent caught up with him in the NFL, where he got benched by the Patriots and then replaced by Drew Bledsoe.

Moss was a good player but undersized. Kinda like Skyler Green or even dare I say Tyron Prothro. Got open a lot and made more plays than you’d expect from him, but was not elite WR talent like Davis. Hodsons best years were with Davis.

Auburn should have had an NC that year.

Nah.

We ran the same play like three times in a row to win, and y'all still couldn't adjust.

National Champions are better than that.

My best friend in HS had a Hodson Heisman hype poster in his room. The Aggies ran back the opening kickoff for a TD and blew him out. No soup for you.

You're so wrong here. Hodson was a very talented QB and not only that but the dude was one hell of an overall athlete there was. Probably a better basketball player. I saw him play many many games in high school and he was a man amongst boys and could sling a football.

It didn't matter if it was, football, basketball, baseball, track, tennis or cross country I think he lettered in every sport and was damn near All State in every sport. My memory isn't what it use to be

I believe he was injured in '87 and didn't start the Bama game. He came in late and threw an interception which helped Bama seal the win.

Just imagine if the refs didn’t blow the Brent Fullwood run against UGa dead.

With respect to the Ruston Rifle, IMO Hodson was the best QB until Burrow

Was booed in th earthquake game and the announcers didn’t get upset or talk about bad fans, they piled on, said he needed to play better. Football before everyone was a vag was much better, not the quality of football but the passion.

Hodson also had Rogie Magee and Brian Kinchen (TE). Good group of receivers in '86-'87.
