[quote]So your argument is that Oklahoma is the drizzling shite when it comes to day to day finances but the good news is that they can continue to leech off their dwindling endowment.
Now that is some serious fiscal responsibility.
Its the dreaded "how do you make a small fortune in the University of Oklahoma? You start off with a large fortune."
No, that would be your assumption. I would asses that you are a hillbilly who has no business in any financial discussions outside of a lemonade stand tho.

And that was after an edit?

We want North Carolina State and Virginia Tech. That's it. We've had enough of the Big 12 expansion party.
If we don't get North Carolina State or Virginia Tech then it's not a big deal. We're already the best conference and 14 is a good number. We can be selective.

Yeah, learn how to quote then maybe graduate to teaching us about finances.

Please, the whole Arkansas hillbilly with no clue of how business works pretty well died when Walmart bought and paid for your entire state. Shut your hole and get back to work or we'll have you fired tomorrow for not bringing the carts back in on time.
As to why a Texas fan would try and suck up to Oklahoma... Christ that beat down we put on you in the CWS must have really stung. Watching Texas try to leech off the leftover glory of Oklahoma is damn sad.
I'm just saying, at this point, it might be time to do the honorable thing. Admit you are a team hoping to land a cushy spot in the MWC or Conference USA. I hear the Southland conference might have a spot open.

It’s easy to restructure debt & increase revenue. Working capital reserves, bonded assets, endowments etc tell the real story & OU sits pretty compared to most public/state universities. You could pencil whip $30M back into the P/L.. good luck catching up to a University with a quarter billion+ more dollars of liquidable assets any time soon.
Yeah, showing a billion in debt is always the more clever accounting strategy for a taxpayer funded institution.
But you're the lemonade stand expert, not we rednecks.
Being able to field more than one offensive line for a spring game, now there's a real challenge.

Agreed. Would love another return trip to NOLA/Red Stick for a game. Only plus for us Cocks is we haven’t had to play Bama since we kicked their arse in 2010.
Elephants never forget. Your arse-kicking is coming, just be patient, and fear the day.
Might as well invite Okie. They'll drag along Okie Lite for political reasons but whatever. We fricked up when we allowed Misery in anyway. Okie has as much business, if not more in the SEC as the CoMo SJW's. What in the hell were we thinking?
Yes, it's a damn shame we have a conference now where we don't even all play each other in a decade. That's why we need to drop one shite OOC game and start a 9th SEC game. It'd be a good start. Another one was that pod scheduling idea that's been floated around here more than once. Money has ruined conferences.
Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas belong in a conference together and should play every year. Throw in A&M and that's a pretty damn strong nucleus for a league. The SEC needs to go back to Arkansas and USC being the newbies on the block. And Notre Dame has as much business being in the ACC as a whore in church. Ditto Louisville and Pitt. It's the Atlantic COAST conference. So if your state has no coastline, WTF are you doing in the league? I doubt we'll ever get the genie back in the bottle though. It's only going to get worse.

We want UNC and Virginia but will settle for State and Tech. We want the flagship university from any state we add. Duck Oklahoma

Obviously you dont know your place......whorns havn’t been worth a shite in a decade. Let that sink it. Fans still live in the early 2000s. Joke.

They barely have a satellite system compared to any state university in the SEC for example. You're saying their endowment and assets are carrying their debt due to kiting or borrowing against actual real property?
shite. Arkansas should put in a bid for OU-Tulsa and make it UA-Tulsa. Your explanation is a house of cards.

It is not that OU is bad for SEC because once again T.V. Market and population that support SEC sports on T.V.. That is why Missouri got in and was just in the right location and huge T.V. market. It is that simple. Donation?

Almost makes me feel kinda bad about the Rose Bowl. Little guys probably needed that win to help numb the pain of financial ruin.
Only almost though

Futile as it might be, I like to imagine that college football can still retain some of the regionalism that makes it unique.
So I have you down as supporting GT to the SEC?
If you preclude them based on economics then you open the door for why Oklahoma is in the discussion to begin with. Especially with us inevitably moving to a la cart streaming where regional TV markets aren't the driving force, but instead national brand appeal.
