I think that the hire will be totally out of left field. Someone who's name hasn't been mentioned and probably won't be until it happens.

If it's not a big name coach, Tennessee fans will riot again. They don't want Elliot and will riot if Elliot is hired. I really think Elliott would be a good hire because of the situation they are in.

Tennessee is still a premier job in the sec. I just don’t see a top notch coach turning an offer down. Especially with fat Phil gone. The right coach can get that program on top shelf.

Nah. Sonny Dykes on the other hand....

But there’s no way this hire lasts more than 3 seasons.
The basis for a solid roster is there, the new guy gets 2 years of low pressure, and the university has top resources/facilities/fans. It’s a big 6 top 10 all time wins and can get back competitive quickly.
If you are a coach and want a big time shot this is a solid option.
Recently hired HCs have hurt the program and then the sanction will hinder hiring good to great HCs until the sanction is over. Missouri and ole Miss went through that. Both are looking good now! Got to wait it out for 3 or 4 years before get a good HC.

Because they would be smart to do so? That been a dead end job for a while now, and its not getting easier for them.

What happens is I hang out in alot of Tennessee related threads because I'm a Tennessee fan. You hang out exclusively in Tennessee threads trying to push this same bullshite because you have a stalker like obsession that you physically can't seem to control. I mean its really consuming you.

Post a UGA thread, and you will find me there. Post a thread laughing at a rival, and you will find me there.
It just so happens the vols are the current laughing stock of the SEC, so its not a coincidence, is it?

Vols fans are a very delusional bunch even after all of the losing.

Agreed
If UT is on the best case trajectory to eventually mirror Bama, this hire is their Mike Shula.
All he should be expected to do is ride out the sanctions, maybe get a couple of good wins, and then move over for the bigtime hire in 3 seasons.

They're bound to get the right guy eventually. They seem to be going for most opportunities. The coaching turnover since Fulmer has been insane

Why don’t they get Jamey Chad well from coastal Carolina

Would you turn down 15 million plus whatever the buyout will be after 3? The 1st two years are free shots.
