funny. that was the 2nd thing i thought. "both are amazing, and i wouldn't care from an athletic standpoint... but newton is a cocky sucker.. and tebow at least PLAYED the part of humble."

LOL yea going to celebrate with his own fans while yelling thank you is cocky, but singing rammer jammer which includes the lyrics "we just beat the hell out of you" is classy. The hypocrisy of bammers is amazing.

32 passing TDs and 23 rushing TDs in one year trumps Cam for now.

Why is newton so cocky after every win he is celebrating with the fans and it just makes him look like a a-hole
I don't like this either.

IMVOO, he is better than Tebow. Someone mentioned Tebow has a Heisman and a NC. So what? He won neither on his own. Newton's performance Saturday was outstanding, he looked much more dangerous than Tebow ever did (and yes, I suscribe to the "his supporting cast is weaker" theory as well).

It seems Cam Newton is a better runner and passer than Tebow.
So I pick Newton.

I guarantee you Auburn would not be undefeated if Tim Tebow was our quarterback right now.

Which is more classy, running to celebrate with your fans, or telling your opponent "we just beat the hell out of you"? Simple question. By the way, I didn't bring up class. A bama fan did.

I feel that way as well.

There are some of those plays by Newton that I question if anyone else could have made.

Hard to say at this point but Newton appears to be an even better athlete and RB. We will have to see what Cam's passing stats look like over time. Keep in mind that Tebow won 2 NC's for the Gators and stayed for his Senior year. Newton could be gone to the pros at the end of this season becoming a one year wonder.

This whole thread is full of racism.

It's pretty simple: Tebow would run around and celebrate with teh crowd and it was fine because he's white.

But you people are hatin' on teh BLACK MAN dominating you and it's KILLING YOU....

Get used to it: Cam is the best in the country

Peace.

How? By running up to the wall and yelling thank you to the fans? There were 3 or 4 of our players up there celebrating. Tebow used to run around the field and shake hands with fans. Was that cocky? I wish he would of waited till the clock was at 0, but it was a HUGE win. Face it, you would love it if it was your team.

Tebow
was a douche IMVOO. Nobody here mentioned until now his celebratory actions.

Newton's actions were not humble in any way, shape or form, I got no thank you vibes out of his grandstanding (although I'm sure he was very thankful to the faithful), and he should have waited untill the close of the game or at least the last five seconds.

There were other players, but they began later and obviously were eclipsed in television camera attention.

I'd like Cam on my team NOW but he wouldn't have been the starter over Tebow. Tebow is just better.

Hell, even when Tebow was a sophomore and Cam was a freshman the competition wasn't close. It's not like Tebow had a ton more experience than Cam did in 2007. Tebow's a better all around player.

Cam is definitely a better runner. I'll give him that.

Tebow couldn't even lead his unbelievably talented teams to a single undefeated season. He lost four games his first year as a starter with Percy Harvin, Louis Murphy etc... lost to Ole freaking Miss at home with those guys and a great defense, and got embarrassed in Atlanta his senior year. As a college player Newton dominates games like Tebow never could. The only comparison to Cam is Vince Young.
