Just reading that thread where they Mizzou fans were saying that Mizzou/KU was heated. Well I want to know some of the good pranks that have been done. We all know about the Bama Teabagger and the Toomer Trees, but I want to know about some of the actual funnier pranks? The teabag thing was funny until I found out the dude was in his 30's.

Jeff Long got LSU to give Les Miles a raise and extension, that was pretty funny even though they aren't our rival.

1961: The Prank
In 1961, the USC fraternity Sigma Nu pulled what some have called the greatest prank in the rivalry's history. A few minutes before Clemson football players entered the field for pre-game warm ups, a group of Sigma Nu fraternity members ran onto the field, jumping up and down and cheering in football uniforms that resembled the ones worn by the Tigers. This caused the Clemson band to start playing "Tiger Rag," which was followed by the pranksters falling down as they attempted to do calisthenics. They would also do football drills where guys would drop passes and miss the ball when trying to kick it. Clemson fans quickly realized that they had been tricked, and some of them angrily ran onto the field. However, security restored order before any blows could be exchanged. The Carolina frat boys had also acquired a sickly cow they planned to bring out during halftime to be the "Clemson Homecoming Queen", but the cow died en route to the stadium. Carolina won the game 21-14.

Nothing tops poisoning a tree and putting your nuts on a rival fans face in a fricking public restaurant, so let's put this thread and these weak arse stories of frat boys dancing around in uniforms and school presidents farting at the dinner table to rest.

LSU- Tulane

In the mid-1980's, Tulane pranksters cut the locks on Mike IV's cage and freed him in the early-morning hours just days before the annual LSU-Tulane clash. Mike roamed free, playfully knocking down several small pine trees in the area, before being trapped in the Bernie Moore Track Stadium where police used tranquilizer guns to capture and return the Bengal Tiger to his home.

I think, back in the day Aburn greased the train tracks so when the Rambling Wrecks' train came into the station it couldn't stop.
Maybe a boog can tell it better than me.

Auburn vs Georgia Tech
quote:

GREASING THE TRACKS

The night before an 1896 football game with their arch-rival Georgia Tech, a group of Auburn students set out for the local train station. To greet the arriving Tech team, the Auburn kids decide to do a particularly impressive job of the old "greasing the tracks" prank, covering the rails around the station and well down the line heading out of town. When the Tech train rolls in the next morning, it can't stop and reportedly slides for 10 miles, leaving the team an its accompanying fans well outside their intended destination. Forced to walk into town for the game, the players are so exhausted when they finally reach the field, Tech loses 45 to nothing.

... best prank in the history of college football imho. Better than Auburn greasing the train tracks when Georgia came to town.

But about "The Prank" we pulled on Clemson in '61, I've always loved this version by this guy, who I have met, who was there and took part in "The Prank." The Prank 1962 Clemson at Carolina

But did you know that Florida tried copying the same prank against us in like '63 or '64 down in Gainesville, I believe Spurrier was there at the time.

Wasn't there an A&M cadet killed by a Baylor fan on the field way back in the day?

I might be alone in this...but I dont think that would qualify as "best" prank.
