Thoughts on the LSU/TAMU "rivalry" renewal?
I'm very pumped about it. Ya'll will become our true 'rival'. I'm old enough to remember playing ya'll late 80's and early 90's.
I fricking hate ya'lls school.

Potential for a rivalry, but right now I think more aTm fans were excited to play LSU than the other way around. I personally like aTm and I thought they were a good addition to the SEC, but I wasn't as excited about that game as I am about Bama, as I was about Florida and SCar.
LSU has never really hada rival.....we have the boot game with Arky, but that honestly feels more forced than anything.
Time will tell. THe games between the two teams will be good every year though.

But do y'all think we can compete and do you think it will be a mutual rivalry or one-sided?
Once you guys catch up, you will compete well.
In most conferences, you can direct your focus to offense, and still be competitive and successful. In this conference, you are nearly fricked without a serious defensive focus.
You could be like Arky under Petrino. . .great offense with good seasons. . .but never a real contender.

Tulane was a serious rivalry.

I've never once driven through Louisiana and thought to myself "Well, this place is nice." Hoping for a victory for the Ags next season as Johnny improves.
Yeah. I remember driving through awesome places like Cut-N-Shoot, Texas on my last trip to College Station and thinking about how awesome it was seeing that many kitchen appliances outdoors.

For now we are smiling and talking about it. Fast forward to sumlin starting to stock this program and maybe a night win in Death Valley...we will no longer be smiling or talking. Culturally, location wise, and historically we really line up. You start adding caliber of program to the mix and all hell breaks loose. Also, we have a super cool name. "The Gulf War"

I think the game saturday showed our potential to have this grow into something as good/better than ours was with Texas and i don't recall LSU having a major historical rival for very long
That game had me nervous. We can lose to any other team and I wouldn't have been as mad, but losing to aTm would have PISSED me off.

First off, I am a rook coming from TexAgs so sorry for my mistakes, but I wanna hear everyone thoughts on this
A&M fans are pretty unanimously thrilled to be playing LSU (especially near thanksgiving) to replace the Texas rivalry

LSU is not the same program that A&M fans remember. It will become apparent to A&M fans pretty soon that it has more in common with the Mississippi schools than LSU.
For that reason, I don't see LSU fans really buying into the rivalry like back in the 90s. But, the thing about the SEC is that every game is important. So, it will still be exciting year in and year out when A&M plays LSU. You will learn to hate every team in the conference.
