Now for what actually happened. We were young in the secondary and there are two options for that. Either you use coverages to help with it, or you better have a pass rush.

We are determined to play man type, bump and run coverages on the outside no matter who we play.If we can't get pressure, we got trouble and this was the case.

When we were able to get after Lawrence, it affected him he didn't like it very much. If we were playing them next week I would put in some Mississippi State type blitz packages and send more than they keep in period, just to see how he handles getting knocked around. We had the run under control pretty much and I am going to refuse to let them block my pass rush, give them no time to throw deep. We won first and second down again and again, it was third down where we got beat.

Lawrence can't beat me on his back or running for his life.

Then drove to Sacramento after the game and slept for a few hours in the airport before a 6 AM flight back

Damn. Why didn't you fly in and out of San Francisco?

However, I’ve seen Bama all out Blitz and I did not see that level of effort.

Because statistically Lawrence was much better against the blitz than against coverage and rushing 4. It would have been a bloodbath if we had been sending 6 people constantly.

We flew into LAX because we wanted to drive the coast, but we flew out of Sacramento because of $$$. 2 people at $150 a piece vs 2 people at $550 a piece.

It’s time for Saban to gracefully exit. His process isn’t working anymore. Dabo has fun, Saban should give that a try.

I can't believe I am in agreement with a Bama fan.

Even better, he should come finish up his career where he won his FIRST and most IMPORTANT National Championship.

It's interesting, to me, the similar style of play Kirby has retained and implemented at UGA. Yet, that was with Mel Tucker still with him. I say these things to point out, one man's system can't be successful forever. Eventually another mind will scheme perfectly against it, after the success Saban has had; all of those studious eyes peering in on him. So, Kirby comes over a few years back, recruits like Bama, implements the same intensity/mindset, and manages the game very close to the same way Saban does. Saban will not stop being successful, simply because people are grasping how to beat him, they still have to earn it. I just think Kirby needs to step back, look at HIMSELF, and model a team after his true self. If Saban is on the decline, no way will someone find success running his same scheme at 90% efficiency.

4. No Blitzing by Bama. Why did they not send the whole house, even if they scored. TL NEVER felt fear from Bama’s D. I think very poor coaching here.

What? He was repeatedly smashed, yet stood tall in the pocket and picked you apart. Herbie talked about it more than anything. He looked like a pro out there.

I said if you stay out of SF, CA is a great trip. PCH is a must do for everyone. If you have time visit Hurst Castle and spend some time in Big Sur. I have driven it both North and South, as the driver I prefer the inside lane (you know what I’m talking about if you have driven it). Carmel and Monterey are the two nicest areas in the country, just stay the hell out of SF. The last two years we have added Yosemite to the trip, another place you have to see in your life.

Mucho Congratulations too all Clemson fans.

People take fandom too seriously these days. You don’t have to congratulate the fans. Congratulate the team and coaches who won the game.

Shoot, if only I could claim even that title. I'd be further than I am now.
