Most of this board is too young to remember Alabama fans pre-Saban. We were way more obnoxious. We hadn't accomplished hardly anything in 15 years so all we talked about was the Barrr, our tradition being better than yours, and our national title numbers that somehow grew in number to 12 without actually winning any more of them.

God, that sounds like Aggies today.

It is. But it’s still very much true. When Saban retires and Bama falls back to good not great level of play, you won’t see 90% of the “fans” anymore

Except they did their last stadium expansion during the Shula years.

I wear an Alabama shirt because I graduated from there. My husband wears an Alabama shirt because he's been a fan since childhood, but instead of college, he enlisted in the military. Screw you.

Is he still in the military?

And why does it have to be a Tide fan that's also a fan of all the other great teams? Like the Alabama fan in him MAKES him so douchey that he also likes all the other great teams How about that's just a loser that has nothing to do with Alabama or their fans

It’s not being a Tide fan that makes that guy a douche...that guy is a douche and is merely hitching his wagon on to a Winner. I’m pretty sure they don’t suffer like the rest of us when facing tough losing seasons. I’d have all the respect in the world for a fan rocking Crimson in 2003 and 2004...but, didn’t see near as much of that.

You have a pretty low bar for success. I was originally registered here as just bamajane (back during “As the Plains Burn” time, I think) & admittedly had few posts, but you’re further down the list than you think. You should seek validation on something other than a message board. Screw you.

Oh I got your first 2 now.

"Graduating from Ole Miss" is probably as worthwhile as buying something from Wal-Mart one time.

The state of Alabama has nothing to look forward to other than Saturdays in Auburn or Tuscaloosa so you can't really blame the ones who didn't go to the school.
