The odds are certainly in their favor until September.

I know they faded down the stretch, but this Scar team has depth and is as equally as athletic as UF and UGA at the top. Their secondary is the best in the SEC and they will always have a decent pass rush. Their offensive line made improvements last year under a new coach and the second year under a coach is when the most progress is made.

This is all debatable. Florida could have the best secondary in the SEC next year with Janoris Jenkins at one CB spot, and Ahmad Black and Will Hill at safety.

And as far as depth goes, I don't see it. They aren't nearly as good as Florida and UGA in that department.

Even as down as Tennessee is, USC beating them isn't even close to a sure thing.

The biggest road block is the game @ Florida. USC doesn't play well away from home, and Florida normally plays top notch against SEC teams in the swamp. Unless USC has a full 2 game lead against UF, which I seriously doubt, they would have to win @ Florida to win the east and I don't see that happening.

I would not be surprised at all to see USC end up winning the (down) East.

If that happens, it'll be the biggest blowout in SEC championship game history.

UGA- constantly underachieve and are ok with losing to UF every year and getting blowed out by bad UT teams. Program is also very stale.

If we were ok with it then why did we fire almost our entire defensive staff? Quite obviously, we're not ok with and and went out and got people who are going to change it.

Also, SC better hope like hell nothing happens to Garcia seeing as 2 of his backups are transferring leaving on a True Freshman as his backup.

Also, why do you think SC is as "athletic" (which is a broad as hell term anyway) as UGA or UF? What would support that claim? Sure as hell not recruiting rankins, so why do you think that?

Yeah, USC is just too inconsistent to win enough games against the SEC to actually win the division. Every year against UGA and UT is a toss up for them, Vandy has won 2 of 3 and only lost 14-10 last year, USC hasn't beaten Auburn since they joined the SEC, They have to play Alabama and the game against Arkansas will be tough, and USC is 1-3 against Arkansas in the last 4 tries.

And oh, since the SEC split, USC is 1-17 against UF. Even UGA has a better record than that.

USC is basically just a step above Kentucky and Vandy in the SEC east and they will not win the division, especially this year, because Florida is not as far down as people think.

I don't think they can win the East. They can't beat UF, UT and UGA in the same year it seems.

FL would have to lose to Bama, LSU, and UGA for USCe to have a shot. I don't think we lose all three of those.

Gumps: go ahead and post your "You'll lose to Bama for sure crap" here ...

Keep this speech in your back pocket just in case. I've only made one, simple modification:

quote:

And even if we win, if we win, HAH! Even if we win! Even if we play so far above our heads that our noses bleed for a week to ten days; even if God in Heaven above comes down and points his hand at our side of the field; even if every man woman and child held hands together and prayed for us to win, it just wouldn't matter because all the really good looking girls would still go out with the guys from {insert school name of SEC East Champion} because they've got all the money! It just doesn't matter if we win or we lose. IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER! IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER! IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!

True.

It won't happen, but it would be pretty hilarious if two of more mediocre SEC teams of the last decade (Arkansas and USC) ended up in the championship.

Um, has anyone else noticed that not one USCe fan has even commented on a thread about them, which do I even need to point out is very rare indeed?

Where have they all gone?

South Carolina can easily match UF and UGA starter for starter at almost any postiion and has a better secondary than both. They have lacked talented back ups in the past, but they have recruited great players recently. Culliver, Hollman, Gimore, Whitlock are easily the best secondary and it's not debatable. They return 17 starters and the most talented ones were freshman and sophs. Ashlon will be the best reciever in the SEC this year. Saunders is already the best TE.

My prediction is based on the improvement of the their O-line whic did improve some last year. They only lose their center on offense and the other 10 starters return better than ever.

Ellis will always field an aggressive defense and will be successful because he has the best secondary in the country this year.

No Julio will be second. Ashlon knows how to adjust to the ball better in the air and knows how to use his frame to his advantage.

Julio doesn't play like a 6'4" 215lbs receiver until after he makes the catch. He has to learn to be more physical before the catch and to use his frame to shield defenders.

South Carolina always looks pretty good on paper, but unfortunately for them they actually have to play games on the field. All that means is that they'll look pretty good for a month, and then fade away into the abiss of the papajohns.com bowl. Carolina will yet again finish no better than third in the East.

So AJ is at best the 3rd best receiver in the league? Well now I know you're an idiot.
