Here is the biggest fault of Oregon's style of offense in post season play. It relies on timing more than ANYTHING. And when you go a month without playing football every day, driving that timing into not only your head but your muscle memory, it effects that timing. We saw that in the game with Auburn where even the blandest of defenses shut them down. It also made Auburn's offense do the same thing. Remember how before that game every one was shouting on and on about how the point total would set BCS records and it would be a shootout of epic proportions?
Auburn 22
Oregon 19
Jesus Christ at the fricking points scored in that game!!!
You are using the one game were Oregon was the closest to beating an SEC team as an example of how they would never beat a legit SEC D?
1st off, their D is much improved and the oregon O is no longer as gimmicky as they used to be. They have legit running backs this year.

You have overrun this thread with less than stellar discussion.

AU 2010 isn't exactly what I would call a legit SEC D.
JMO of course.
JMO of course.

I agree, but the Kaptin used them as an example of the typical SEC D. Take it up with him.

Does anybody here believe that LSU is the 2nd best team in the nation?
Posted on 11/7/12 at 9:56 pm to TigersRuleTheEarth
Exactly. Auburn did not have a good D that year yet they completely shut down an Oregon offense that had been steamrolling opponents.
How is facing this Bama front going to be any different?

Try to be a little less transparent next time.
You telegraph your passes worse than Jamie Howard.

Oregon D in 2010 was ranked 34.
Oregon D in 2012 is ranked 50 right now.

You are referring to AU's 2010 defense as a legit SEC D?
They gave up the following points to the following teams
Arkansas St - 26
Clemson - 24 (ot win)
South Carolina 27
Kentucky - 34
Arkansas - 43
Ole Miss - 31
Chatanooga (FCS) - 24
Georgia - 31
Alabama - 27
thats 9 games with more than 20 points
4 with more than 30
and 1 with more than 40 points given up
You really want to call that a legit SEC D?

Because Oregon is a different type of team this year, Just watch some of their games and you will see. They have more of a power rushing game.
