They are but they rarely dive deeper that what they practiced the week leading up to the game.

We have had execution problems at bad times all year

Where it really matters , the CFB press. What happens in the game is secondary to what the talking heads conjure up before kick off.

And ND is still 51 in run defense???? UGA Oline gonna feast....they will eat more in New Orleans than they used to at Charlie Williams.....

I agree with this. Let me just say this. I played WR, and was on a team whose QB was injured. The play calling changed. Drastically. Now, they didn't create plays...but the plays called were totally different than what would have been called had our QB not gotten injured. They were still plays in the playbook, but they were not necessarily plays we had been practicing all week.

Maybe Georgia does it differently. But all I can do is show how Beck averaged 4 running plays a game all season and Stockton had 8 called in one half. That tells me the playbook went out the window and a new game plan was crafted at halftime on the fly.

That said, I can't say for certain and with absolutely no reservations since i was not in the room at halftime.

Defenses are so vastily different from week to week, it's hard to just dial up a play designed for a different style QB. It's not like the old days when everyone had similar fronts. You have 11 guys that have to know their assignment and stay in rhythm in these motion heavy offenses.

They called simple pass plays out of the game plan and allowed Gunner to run the 3-4 qb run plays designed for Beck. That is all, stop arguing.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. It's been a long time since i played, and i am sure things have changed a lot. My only caveat is that the QB and center are the only two players who handle the ball on every single play. The QB is the one that makes the offense run or fail. To try to put a square peg in a round hole is a super fast way to lose a game and make an entire offense dysfunctional.

I'll bow out of the conversation. I never should have put my .02 worth in.

There is no reason Notre Dame should be able to stay within 2 TDs of Georgia, Beck or no Beck.

But, they are kind of like a better Georgia Tech. You can bet Leonard will run his arse off. But I think they frick up and lose to Indiana anyway

Indiana or ND will have trouble against this GA D

Riley Leonard won't have enough time to throw and their run game will get corralled

Not too concerned about either team

You could say that about anyone. Georgia has a good defense. But we've seen a player like Leonard (King) have a lot of success against Georgia. He probably has a better OL, skill position probably slightly worse because I don't think they have a Singleton but the overall group is probably a little better.

I've always gotten carried away when I respond. For some reason I find it difficult to say things concisely. It was not meant to overpower you, or criticize your opinion. It's just as valid as mine. Maybe moreso.

Lost to Bama and Ole Miss. 2 dying teams with bad coaches.

Yep, Bama looked like crap in Death Valley. Just barely survived the LSU onslaught..

At some level, I kind of got the impression that Kirby didn't mind losing to Lane and was happy to stay in the hunt for a playoff slot, but not for the SEC CG slot as the injuries were mounting up.

Better but not much. Anyone can pad their stats when the defense starts to give more room to receivers.

Why would they do that? I mean, if they are shutting down the offense, why would they start giving more room to the receivers?

What does LSU have to do with it. LSU isn’t good either.

LSU is an example of "not that good."
Georgia is SEC champs, in the playoffs, and not a good example of "not that good."
