What happened to all those guys after college? Selling used cars?

I went to school with a kid that was a top 50 player. Big, fast back that dominated 5a competition in Florida. He got his bell rung once 3/4 through his senior season and wasn't the same back. Kid still signed with auburn out of high school and ended up at ole miss where he was an average back. He had all the talent in the world but basically played scared after he got rocked.
Not saying this will happen to fournette at all, just saying that you never know how guys are going to respond to elite talent on the other side of the ball. Fournette probably didn't encounter a linebacker his size in high school, and he's about to see them every Saturday. Countless "great" high school running backs have been average SEC backs. Jury is still out on Fournette until he proves it on Saturdays. Kid has all the talent in the world though and a good head on his shoulders. If he plays with a tenacious attitude then he'll be a top 5 back this year.

No way. Don't believe it. Physically impossible.
I know right? The clip is out there somewhere. I think it was from The Opening maybe?

Should've just stopped right there. Fournette isn't some run of the mill top 50 kid.

I don't disagree with anything you've said. I was just saying the 7 on 7 clip was ridiculous.

Wow...
If you don't think there's a difference in a player taking his first college snaps at quarterback vs their first college snaps at runningback, you don't understand football.

Neither was Bryce Brown, Willie Williams, Fred Rouse, Melvin Alaeze, Darrell Scott, or Mitch Mustain
The point, which you are missing due to homerism, is that you don't know until the kid suits up in college. It doesn't matter how great he was in high school

Starting this year right? Because we've got the last ten years covered in Derrick Henry.

You aren't really helping your case.

How am I not? Those were all top 10 players that flamed out. There are countless others that had average careers.

Look at me, I call him Jake when everyone else calls him Jacob, therefore I'm obviously legit.
It doesn't matter if I call him Jake, Jacob or Sugartits. He's still an incredible talent that almost beat out the Heisman trophy winner. With what Bama has on offense he will be a force. Deal with it

Let me just stop you right here!
Bama Logic- Cocker just needs to be serviceable and we will win a NC
If we apply Bama Logic to LSU and LF he just needs to serviceable for us to win

To be fair, I circle-jerked about Cam Newton and Nick Marshall when they were set to arrive at Auburn (and Kiehl Frazier to an extent, but not as much as the other 2). I was also the only one calling for Cam Newton to win the Heisman roughly around the time he dominated against South Carolina the first time around.
