Right, I agree his offenses work well with a running QB. My comment was specifically that he cannot develop said QBs. I can't think of one QB that was better at the end of his college career than when he arrived under Malzahn. They all seem to just stay the same (or get worse)...

Cam Newton was much better. His passing improved tremendously. He won the Heisman Trophy under Gus then was the #1 overall pick in the draft. Where he was rookie of the year and broke Peyton Mannings rookie passing record. Id say he was much better than he was at Blinn College

Nick Marshall lost 8 games in JC and threw like 25 interceptions his last year. I would certainly say he was a better QB than when he arrived at Auburn. He was not a NFL QB and no coach ever could have made him one. But he was much better.

I would argue to say the Chris Todd was better after Gus but who really cares. Other than Jarrett Stidham, Id like to know one of the QB;'s under Gus that we feel like another coach could have made them a much better QB

Ok? He still had a reputation for winning the big ones and he won a hell of a lot more rivalry games than Gus has too.

That is debatable. Of course you will select the ones you want to make your point but Gus beat 3 #1 teams. Not sure Tubs has done that.. And dont get me wrong. I liked Tommy for a good portion of his time at Auburn. But you have to compare all the games. But he was given the gift of Bama being on probation pretty much his entire tenure at Auburn. He did not have to deal with the 2 headed monster that is in Tuscaloosa now. Once he did, he folded like a cheap tent. Gus however, how pretty much dealt with Alabama better than any of the FBS program

so YES, recent events seem to point that it was Nick that put that team over the top.

AS long as you believe things like that, there is no need to debate it. Gus gets the credit for the shite but not for when things go well. IF you dont think Gus built Marshall at QB, you are not looking at it partial. Yes Nick was a fantastic athlete but he improved exponential while he played the 2 years for Gus. I guess we give that credit to the OC because it was a good thing?

We didn't watch the same Cam Newton then. He was no better of a passer down the stretch than at the beginning of the season. Defenses started to respect his legs leaving guys more open maybe, but he did not improve as a passer until he got to the NFL, now under Norv Turner.

Nick Marshall was decent when he got to Auburn. I saw no improvement in him other than his ability to run the zone-read...

Cam Newton has shown in the NFL he could improve as a passer. I think Marshall could have as well - but, again, was so focused on learning the zone-read to perfection.

Are you kidding? I'm pretty sure they stamp your birth certificate for Alabama or Auburn at birth. Growing up, everyone picked a side and Auburn had plenty of sidewalk alumni.

Gus has coached us 6 years. Though I am as disappointed as many, its really a dumb thing to fire him right now In the 6 years, we have a SEC Championship, two west championships, two 10 win seasons and a national championship appearance. He did this taking over a 3-9 team that was 0-8 in the SEC And he did this with his in state rival being on what is the best run in recent college football history. Now I ask you, can someone give me another Auburn coach that has done that? Nobody likes some of the stuff he does but his upside is good and we are in the conversation almost every year. If you think the powers to be are going to pay the above guy 42 mil to leave, you are just being foolish. Stop reading the click bait and use your fricking head Its going to be Gus or bust for a few more years at minimum.

I’ve realized one thing, we can state these facts all day long but most of our fans will always skip past them. I’m disappointed in the fan base we have become.

I’d say you’re wrong.

This is how your fanbase has been for at least 50% of my adult life.

Does it not frustrate you that when a reporter asked him what the solution is he answered "winning"? Like no shite
