Alabama’s coach has exactly zero to do with the fact that LSU is blowing a wad of cash on a team that is unlikely to compete for any kind of championship. But since you mentioned it, Deboer has 2 playoff appearances and an SECCG appearance. He’s also 2-0 vs LSU, including a beat down in Red Stick.

Not only did we have a pretty weak showing, but it will have been 4 seasons since we even put a team in the championship game. The year before, it was just 3. There is definitely going to be some doubt about the SEC going into next season. Being generous, let’s say the SEC will get 4 next season. Would you bet your house on LSU in the top 4 of the conference? Yeah, it could happen, but it would take some things falling their way.
