they earned respect by building this conference from the ground up. The reason noobs like florida and LSU are enjoying success now is b/c of the foundation that was laid by Alabama and Tennessee for decades. Is it too much to ask we get to keep our annual game we've been playing since back when we were the only 2 good teams in this conference?

UT may suck balls, but let me know when LSU has as many SEC Titles or even SEC wins as the Vols do

I have absolutely no problem with "The Fourth Saturday in October"

I just enjoy seeing y'all up in arms about how there is noooooooooooooooooooo way this rivalry will be discontinued with the addition of more teams.

You are one fricking smartass. It's a redeeming quality I look for in my closest friends in the LSU family.

Correct. B'ham is/was the Steel Capital.

That name has nothing to do with Alabama or Auburn or the State of Alabama or city of Tuscaloosa or Auburn

Well that's where you'd be wrong because the entire state has an impact on the Steel Industry. Thus, the name Iron Bowl is still relevant.

When you play a game labeled the "Third Saturday in October" on the "Fourth Saturday in October" it no longer makes any sense nor has any relevance.

not really sure why an LSU fan is trying to argue this anyway?

Well for starters, I am an Alabamian.

Apparently, LSU fans are very concerned about the Bama vs. UT and Iron Bowl as evident by their continued posting in this thread

But... it's looking like the addition of more teams will be tailored to suit our rivalry.

OUR rivalry. Alabama's and Tennessee's rivalry. You know, the concept you covet.

You vacated 05, but forfeited 93 for some reason.

Oh, right- another "hate" thread where the emoticon is used in every post, and the opposing teams fanbases pat eachother on the back because Tennessee has no natural rival and Bama's very consciously trying to downplay theirs.

Oh, there are things that annoy me. Interestingly enough, it is when people are not trying to be annoying that they most often succeed in being so.

They did forfeits back then. The concept of vacated wins is actually pretty new.

47-38-7, Alabama leads.

And, just for comparison's sake, the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry stands at 57-44-6. Michigan leads that one.

yep, and it wasn't until the last 20 years either of you were worth a shite.

I'm well aware LSU & Florida were charter members, so was Vandy, Ole Miss, Auburn, & Miss State etc. And thats who LSU was associated with until the last decade

Ya'll have been here from the beginning, but you weren't any more relevant than Auburn or Ole Miss until Saban came to town
