It's like discussing games with us. They love to talk about everything before 1982 to discuss how the gumps have dominated, but when you narrow it down from Bear's last year of 1982 to present, it currently stands at:
14-14-1.

Its a State rivalry game...it isn't exclusive to any of those three locations.

what is your problem with Bama and Tennessee enjoying their rivalry?

you have been starting and posting in these threads all day

nobody on this board hates the Bama Tennessee game more than you... just curious what you deal is? You REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to play Missouir every year and you are mad at us for sending them to the East?

Here is how I responded to that:

No...conference expansion began in 1990 and that's why we're having this debate. You claim that the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry is a bad rivalry that should be discontinued when, since South Carolina and Arkansas first joined the conference, the series has been dead even.

As I've said all day...I enjoy not having a "true" rival. I'd rather everyone hate us...

I have absolutely no problem with "The Fourth Saturday in October"

I just enjoy seeing y'all up in arms about how there is noooooooooooooooooooo way this rivalry will be discontinued with the addition of more teams.

Everyone bow to these 2 teams cuz they take precedence over common sense

It was named after the Steel Capital of the South, Birmingham

Alabama is not know as the "Steel State"

The name "Iron Bowl" referred 100% to the fact the game was played in Birmingham every year and nothing more. That name has nothing to do with Alabama or Auburn or the State of Alabama or city of Tuscaloosa or Auburn. You can try to pretend like that isn't the case, but you would be completely wrong

not really sure why an LSU fan is trying to argue this anyway?

Any other areas in the state known as "the Pittsburgh of the South"? You know that is why it is called the Iron Bowl, right? Because it was played in Birmingham. Not because it was a "state rivalry game"..

No, man, no. Don't fall into the trap that people fall into so often around the Internet. They're so anxious to use a cool new U MAD macro that they whip 'em out at the wrong times.

The best time to drop it on someone is when they really are mad. They get called on it and go into full denial mode, but in actuality, the macro increases their mad quotient by a multiple of at least fifteen or twenty.

Bonus points if they explode into profanity at you or tell you that the very premise of the U MAD macro is overused or trite. A sure-fire sign of mad, and that you've won.
