Have not said it but this is exactly what I have been thinking. You actually gain an advantage by losing as long as you only have one loss at the end of the season. You let everyone else beat on each other and wait to see how everything shakes out. You become (if you will) the "second choice" of the CFP.

No but in the nfl you have to win your division at least to get in.

only a Georgia fan would make a thread advocating for losing big games

Bama isn’t getting in if they lose
12-1 OU will. Much better resume.

Right. But the wild card team still has to win their division to play in the super bowl.

You mean win their games in the playoff? Literally the definition of the wildcard spot is that they didn’t win the division

All the people calling for 6, 8, 12 teams I hope you're ready for this past weekend's WLOCP and this weekend's game to lose nearly all its luster.
This is the worst take ever. The regular season wouldn't lose its luster with a bigger playoff. I get excited with the NFL regular season, NCAA Basketball season, and the NCAA baseball regular season. If you really want to make the regular season more exciting, force teams to play nothing but Power 5 teams. If anything, the elimination for one to two losses makes the rest of the season shitty.

the seccg would then be the de facto elimination game for the bama/lsu or uga loser.

A&M don't have to worry about it!

Yes. The Giants 9-7 season knocking off the 16-0 Patriots was awesome. The Virginia baseball team that didn't even host their own regional was awesome too.

why do we care about TAMU's opinion? when was the last time they were the best, or 2nd best Football team in the country?

Oregon if they win out
this is the only thing that could put a damper on two SEC teams. Straight up, a 1 loss LSU has a better resume, but i can see the committee putting Oregon in since they would be on a 9+ sin streak

The SEC Championship means something.
If this really has to be explained to you, there's really no helping you.

Oregon has zero chance. Every one loss SEC team would have something Oregon doesn't...a win over an Auburn team, with Alabama's and Georgia's actually being at Auburn.
