Have we had a situation like An undefeated Notre Dame losing in a rematch?

I dont Think so. Usually a much weaker argument.

2017 SEC Title Game in what was essentially a play-in game.

Lol. Bama and ND each have spots regardless of this weekend's results.

Had UF not tossed shoes around, there may have been discussion on ND had UF beat Bama and ND lost to Clemson.

What makes you think this is our best team ever? Stats? Link? Let me guess - no one has ever accused you of being smart, have they?

Except Auburn had 2 loses when they lost

Have we had an undefeated team lose to a 1 loss team?

There hasn’t been an undefeated team lose in a conference championship, nor has there even been a major upset.

Iowa 2015 lost to Michigan State in the Big 10 title game. Iowa missed the playoffs, Michigan State made it.

Wisconsin lost the 2017 Big 10 title game to OSU. Neither made the CFP

Regardless, all these "it's never happened before" arguments are irrelevant for a system that has only been around since 2014. That doesn't mean things can't happen differently this year. Clemson's only loss is in 2OT on the road to #2 team in the country without their starting QB. If they win a competitive rematch, both Notre Dame and Clemson will be in the CFP. A&M got smoked by Alabama in their only loss, and their only notable win lost a lot of luster this past weekend. The only path for A&M is for Notre Dame to beat Clemson again or for OSU to lose (assuming OSU gets the benefit of the doubt like most expect).

The winner is in the ACC loser is out. CFP has NEVER selected a CCG loser.

Two games between Clemson and Notre Dame is enough. Possibly having 3 would be ridiculous.

I swear, by the end of this you frickers will be making claims for why A&M should be in over undefeated SEC champion Alabama.

12-0 Iowa lost to 11-1 Michigan State in 2015.

Yeah I think in most year they would be out, but the big 12 champion is gonna have 2 losses and the PAC 12 champion is gonna have like 4 games and at least 1 loss.

I guess Your arguement is that A&M is getting in, but I dont See it over 1 loss Notre Dame.

I do See it over 2 loss Clemson.

That would not be fair to other schools for playing 10 games or more. Key points are maybe get a surprise loss like last year with Purdue against OSU or was that two years ago? Then there maybe key injuries like a star quarterback. Then there is advantage of resting and keeping players fresh. That is three major advantages for OSU. That is not fair!

Learn to read. I didn't say a word about A&M being in the playoff. We still have to play Tennessee Saturday.

If Clemson loses to Notre Dame, Ohio State beats Northwestern, and Texas A&M destroys Tennessee, and Oregon beats USC (committee will look at undefeated P5 conference champs).

Notre Dame vs Ohio St Rose Bowl
Alabama vs Texas A&M Sugar Bowl

I can also see where they flip it where ND and A&M play to avoid a rematch. In any case, Texas A&M needs to be big ND fans.

False. If Clemson wins in a non-blowout, they'll both make it. Who knows what the margin would have to be for ND to be out...I'd guess at least 17.
