JJ is the type of guy that, when Malzahn leaves or is fired, you just know he'll replace him with a former Auburn coordinator/position coach.

More than likely we wait for this to blow over and Jacobs announces his retirement schedule then enjoys a cushy retirement

Doubtful he makes it to the next big coaching hire

In his defense, the last two Former AU FB coaches he has hired won the SEC and made NC appearances

That is more than UGA FB has done in over a decade

This is true, but they also then proved to be very inconsistent immediately afterwards.

Makes it seem more like blind luck.

I am not super committed to a point of view on Jacobs but it isn't a great feeling that he's probably "the guy" for reasons other than being the best available.

* September 2016- Anonymous letters are sent to Auburn
* Investigation begun, but difficult to determine facts from anonymous letters (Anyone can send them, I could send one now) The team supported Corey and Clint.

If all of their facts came from letters sent to them, did they actually conduct an investigation at all?

From what I have gleaned from this whole thing.....

Player was having consensual sex with a coach.

Other players took screenshots of text messages from off of a phone. I am not sure those could be used because I believe that's illegal.

These players didn't want coach fired, but wanted girl kicked off team, so they recanted.

Player involved in relationship eventually admitted what was going on. Coach was fired.

Then why was the Head Coach fired/resigned/retired?

I can't answer that. He is an old guy. Maybe he thought it was time.

His son was fired early in the season. If there was a bigger issue, Clint would have been fired then.

Our Compliance Dept. is outstanding. That has been proven on more than one occasion. I can assure you that things were handled by the book with them.

ETA The biggest issue is the AD lying about the lack of an investigation to the press. That may cost him his job.

If Jacobs hasn't be fired yet, it aint happening now. The clique of former Colonial Bank shareholders will insulate him like they've always done.
