Nutt saying he is going to do something is quite different then him doing it.
Nutt promised an improved passing game every year after Stoerner left...

i agree. i'm impressed that he's going to do what it takes to fit the talent he has at hand. he isn't as stubborn as the arkansas fans make him out to be.

you may wanna at least wait to see if they actually implement it first, because he promises a different offense just about every offseason.
no, he doesn't. Ole Miss ran Masoli under center for a while until they realized that didn't work at all.
I think this is going to happen and will work well.

its ole miss and nutt its not likely it works out all that well for them. when you haven't won shite since jfk was killed not much ever really works for you

i think this works well but the defense doesn't most likely. they have way too many young guys on defense.

The picture of Theresa Prewett means to take out the opposing quarterback
The picture of Donna Bragg means to maul your blocking assignment and then feign innocence

yes... he does. you can be impressed all you want but i've seen this routine before. a major hint should be personnel changes on the staff and if they actually bring in anyone that has experience running an oregon-style attack.

his job is on the line
i don't think you arky fans get this, but the AD at Ole Miss has never had a good relationship with a coach. Nutt is no different and will be fired with a losing season or just another Egg Bowl loss. there is no frank broyles to protect him.

There are rumors that Nutt and Ole Miss is looking at a Auburn style offense
Lets just call a spade and spade and say what Ole Miss is going to really do. He can try and say it's the Oregon offense but anyone can see that week after week OM's offense looked more and more like Auburn's offense. It makes sense because a certain Auburn OC coached on his staff previously. I just find it humorous that after calling said coach "high school" the OM staff is now emulating his offense.

A part of me wishes Mullen would take the Miami job so that you could hire Malzahn and he could then proceed to roll Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl for the next couple of years. That would be the ultimate irony for me.

I get all of that perfectly. What I think you don't get is that he's going to do the same old shite... maybe with some better gameplanning now that he's feeling the pressure, but maybe not. If it works, he'll lash out at the fans and media for ever doubting him. If it doesn't, he'll blame everyone. If he gets fired for it, he'll get some sappy interview where he bemoans that he thought he was going to retire at OM and just doesn't understand why he didn't get to.

pro style offense =/= oregon style fast paced spread
the personnel fits the latter very well. again, what will make or break 2011 for Ole Miss is the defense.

If this is actually true, I'm going to be interested, just to see how it works.
On one hand, Nutt is in love with running the football, and running an Oregon style read option offense will be good, since they run a lot.
However, Nutt's ability to innovate and fit his offense to fit his personnel groupings is severely limited. Also, Chip Kelly isn't exactly an over-conservative coach. Running a HUNH isn't really conducive to being over-conservative.
