Hindsight being what it is, he should have never been hired in 1997. What were fans thinking with the "fax campaign"?

I still crack up when I see the Daniel Moore print of Coach Stallings with Dubose having a "halo" of light around him.

That was such a dismal night. To make matters worse, I was sitting in front of some friends of mine that used that fabulous game as the backdrop for their break up. That and the freezing cold Auburn game with the sleet (the same year?) were two of the worst games I've ever been to.

I watched it with a bunch of USM fans.

What does Alabama have to gain in playing one of these schools?

The money you pay the non-conference cupcakes like Ga Southern stays in-state to help our economy for starters.

Yeah, that was in 2000. Dubose's last year. That game, a 9-0 garbagefest, was the worst experience at a UA game I have ever had. I lost my jacket. The bad part was that I had bourbon in the pocket.

My stepdad just told me the other day that he tried to get Neuheisel to come coach instead of Dubose, but he was outvoted.

He was like..."yeah... come to think of it, that wouldn't have worked out either."

My dad wanted Frank Beamer after Coach Stallings retired.

I was hoping that cryogenics had advanced to the point that we could reanimate Coach Bryant. Fingers crossed for when Coach Saban head to the lake...

Oh that is so sad.

I think my date took me to Chili's afterward, which was really sad too.

Perks of not having any other D1 in-state schools outside of SC and Clemson. SC and Clemson play other in-state teams all the time without fear of turning them into a bigger program.

That's the way it use to be in Alabama before 1996 with Alabama and Auburn the only two D1 colleges.

Now every little college in Alabama is lining up to become D1. Just in the past few years - UAB (1996), Troy (2002), University of South Alabama (2012), and very recently University of North Alabama (with Tator Tot leading the way) just voted to become D1.

That's 6 D1 schools in one small state. Florida has 7, just one more than Alabama, but they have the recruits to support all these schools.

I wouldn't doubt Jacksonville State being next.

There are no better ribs in Tuscaloosa than BabyBack Ribs from Chili's. I wish the follies of my youth hadn't left me so flippant as to refuse his company again on such perceived party fouls.

It was socks with Birkenstock sandals. The look melted my heart.

Well, seeing as how you just got here, it probably wouldn't be much of a loss if you went back to wherever you came from.

Blanked at Legion Field by Southern Miss.

Legion Field is a neutral site anyway and wouldn't offer any extra advantage to Bama over another school so that loss shouldn't be that painful right?

It was only neutral for the Auburn game!
