ETA: I'm pretty sure every team has been saying that for about 3 years now.. What has come of it? And don't say his stepdad squealed. It's called hard evidence and they have none.

The NCAA has handed down major sanctions on less evidence than there is against OM. They do not require any specific level of evidence or "proof" and are not bound by rules of judicial law.

What evidence do they have against Ole Miss? I'm interested to know how A&M fans know what the NCAA has against OM.

Please enlighten us with all this evidence and all of the sanctions they have levied with less.

Not a lot, but they don't need a lot. For instance, TCU got scholarship sanctions in the 80s purely on hearsay from Texas boosters regarding car dealerships in Ft. Worth.

If there is a strong effort from a school like Bama (for example) to bust your program, it's probably gonna happen.

Tunsil and Manziel cases are complete opposites.

In the Tunsil case you have a step father alleging illegal benefits from Ole Miss to the NCAA.

There was already a huge amount of smoke regarding Ole Miss recruiting violations.

If the NCAA decides to believe Tunsil's step father this could be extremely serious for Ole Miss.

They can't just "believe" what he says. He has to have something to back it up. If they rule him ineligible with no proof that's inviting a law suit against them and their only defense is a rumor from an angry step dad.

The NCAA is more or less immune from civil suits over eligibility rulings.

And yes, they can just "believe" him if they find his story to likely be true given what they know. That's all they need. The bigger issue for OM however is whether or not this is the tip of a big arse iceberg as rumors are alluding to.

They knew they'd face UF's defensive line, and held him out to save his draft stock from plummeting.
