Burden of proof is on you throwing out exact numbers.

But funny that you can't provide any proof for what you're spewing while you try to ask me for "proof".

No, the burden of proof is on you BluegrassBelle, you haven't proven anything.

BTW here is an excerpt from an ESPN article:

quote:

Officially, it's a much more one-sided city. In 2005, the Courier-Journal polled fans on their sports loyalties and 53.7 percent within the city counted themselves as UL fans compared to just 33 percent who identified themselves as Cats fans. And according to the two schools' alumni associations, Louisville understandably has a far greater base in Jefferson County (54,872 living alumni) than Lexington (16,112).

Of course I'm sure you'll find a way to deny that UofL has 16,112 alumni in Lexington right?

our 2001 team was a very solid team and the 2001 Ole Miss team was mediocre

You were in C-USA and we were in the SEC. We beat Bama and LSU that year with a legendary quarterback at the helm. And you're trying to tell me that because you beat TCU you would have beaten us? Wrong.

You maybe win 2000 2002 but they would've been close games.

Both solid, bowl eligible SEC teams and one had an All-American quarterback on them. Ole Miss wins both.

You don't even touch our teams from 2004 - 2006

Sans 2003 I agree we probably don't beat any of the Petrino coached teams.
The '04 team would have given you a run for your money though.

The 2007 game is a toss up

That 2007 team may have had a bad record but there were double digit NFL players (including Patrick Willis) on the team. We win that game.

The fact is you have only 3 guaranteed wins in that stretch, 2003, 2008 and 2009.

2000-2003, 2008 and 2009 are all guaranteed wins for Ole Miss.

I got involved in the argument for whatever reason and he said something about Ole Miss.

Henry Jones we'll have to agree to disagree, there's no way you ever convince me that Ole Miss is guaranteed to win in 2000, 2001 and 2002. In fact I believe UofL wins easily in 2001 and wins close games in 200 and 2002.

Our 2004 team was a top 5 team in the country, no way you ever convince me Ole Miss stays within 2 TD's that game. I also believe we win in 2007.

Like I said, we'll have to agree to disagree.

Why would I deny that? The people who didn't get in to UK have to go somewhere right?

BUT IS IT SCIENCE?!?!?!!?

You once again quote a Courier-Journal (Louisville's local rag) poll. CatFan talked about a national, USA Today survey.

That said, how many college cities have close to 40% of fans from another University in their town? What happened to that 60-70% you were quoting earlier? You have barely half of the city. YOUR OWN CITY.

I haven't read the last few pages of this thread, but are you trying to argue there are more UL fans in Louisville than Kentucky fans. If so, It's at least 2-1 UK, maybe 3-1.

The Tard fan has been informing us that Louisville is one of the greatest football programs to take the field because of their one good year and could school most of the SEC.

He even called out Alabama earlier in this thread saying they could beat them this season.

Besides, stop acting like Bama was such a great team in 2001, they were 7 - 5. LSU was also pretty mediocre (Florida and Tennessee stomped them early in the year) until the end of the year.

We had one opponent in common with Ole Miss that year, UK. Ole Miss beat UK 42 - 31, we beat UK 36 - 10. You barely squeaked by UK, we dominated them.

Ironic coming from a UofL fan. You're trying to convince us that you have some great football program predicated on a whole bunch of 7 win or less seasons.

Actually the USA Today poll the other UK fan listed Louisville as 57% UofL, 33% UK, which is pretty close to what I expected. Another Courier-Journal poll listed it as 65% UofL, 35% UK.

You have not listed one single poll that shows Jefferson County is 50-50, and I'm just supposed to believe you aren't heavily biased towards UK?

The burden of proof is on you. Prove Louisville is 50 - 50, otherwise you are just full of shite BluegrassBelle.

Anyone who knows anything about football knows the transitive property isn't a legitimate way of telling if one team is better than another. If that were the case then UGA was better than Bama last year even though Bama beat them in the SEC championship game because UGA beat us worse than Bama did.

57%

In your own city.

You barely break 50% in your own college town. Think about that. There's a reason for that. No one even wants to be a sidewalk UofL fan.
