You’re not wrong. Fort Worth and its burbs aren’t so bad but when you get to Dallas or Austin, there isn’t a single white person who can change a tire or cut up a fallen tree in their yard.

The game is never going to grow unless the Big 10 gets interested and the season starts too early for that climate.

Let me count the ways:

Let's start with the idea that real baseball isn't played with aluminum bats. It just phonies up the sport right off the, you guessed it, the bat.

Ohio State and Michigan really arn't interested in their starting left fielder playing in snow up to his waist in February. Nothing like having to use a snow plow before game time. There's a reason MLB is down in Florida and Arizona that month.

College baseball is extremely regional. Only the SEC and B12 with an occasional USC thrown in for good measure have any loyalty to this 3rd world sport. Hardly a growing national concern to start with.

The minor leagues have already plucked a lot of the best players out of high school available and viewers are left watching a water-downed version of baseball. No thanks, I hear the Yankees and Braves calling my name.

And Lastly, no one is watching. Last year, the men’s College World Series was averaging 1.04 million viewers across the ESPN family of networks — And that was actually up a whopping 17% from last year's TV figures. Nobody cares enough to watch this stuff. Which quickly brings me back again to my beloved Yankees. See Yeah!

Well the season has to somewhat coincide with school, seeing as how these are STUDENT athletes.

yep, wish the CWS was late july or early August. need something college related to occupy time during the summer

would also allow northern teams a better chance to compete

So July is better than February where people actually care about baseball?

honestly yes. It's still basketball season in February, and honestly tournament time is heating up. MLB runs through July, so I am not sure that is a good criticism.

Students for other sports are around for the summer, football is doing their workouts and stuff. I don't see why we couldn't run the sport during the summer. I bet revenue would go up significantly. The northern schools could compete and the sport would grow like it should.
