Tennessee still has Butch, so the threat isn’t overwhelming. Now Florida? Absolutely. McElwain is a hell of a coach, so I expect them to take over this division until UT and UGA get new head coaches.
Butch beats you 3 years in a row if he doesn't have a Division 2 Pro-style QB from the previous staff running his offense in year 1 and year 2. And it still took a miracle for you to win either of those games. UGA is garbage right now and does less with more than any other team in the country. You're a bunch of perennial under achievers who still couldn't take over the all time series against UT in our worst decade through out history.
Also, do us a favor and don't lump in UT with UGA in needing to find a new HC to compete with Florida. Unlike that arse whipping blow out you got handed to you at the WLOCP, we were up by 2 scores in Gainesville in the 4th quarter. That L and the Oklahoma L Fall on coaching and they know it. They got murdered for those atrocities back home in Knoxville. It seems like they've corrected those issues judging by the UGA, Bama and UK games. Whether you like it or not, we should finish out the season with a strong shot at 9-4.
Jones at UT:
Year 1: 5-7 with an average margin of defeat of 21 points.
Year 2: 7-6 with an average margin of defeat roughly 13 points.
Year 3: On pace to go 9-4 with an average margin of defeat of roughly 4 points. (With 3 of the 4 losses coming to #4 Alabama in Tuscaloosa (19-14) #10 Florida in Gainesville (28-27) and #15 Oklahoma in Knoxville in double OT (31-24)
Anyone who doesn't see the progress being made at UT isn't looking or doesn't want to. Hell, you've got your own fan base, on your board, saying if it wasn't for that fluke fumble on the 1 yard line Georgia gets ran out of the stadium in Knoxville. The fact that we ended the game on a 35-7 run tells you all that you need to know.
You worry about your Fulmer without the National Championship and a cancerous DC roaming around the locker room and we'll worry about Butch Jones.
Have a great Friday.

Sure, set up the argument however you want, Butch didn't beat us 3 years in a row. YOU LOST! And you were lucky that UGA gave that last game away down 24-3. Otherwise, you would be starting November with 5 loses talking about how you need to bring back Fulmer. The incessant UT crap about how they are NOW back from posters needs to at least stop until the off-season where you go back to telling us how the lack of eyebrows is the source of Dobbs powers and that is why UT will win the East again.

We're better than you. Just accept it.

Gave the game away? We TOOK it from you.
The only thing lucky about that game was that you were even close.

I remember back in the day when UF hired a new coach. He went 12-2 in his first season in impressive fashion. He then promptly shite the bed and was fired 2 years later.
Maybe UF fans should think about pumping the brakes a little bit?
ETA: UT fans should definitely pump the breaks. The off-season championship can't be won during the on-season.

D.U.M.P.S.T.E.R.F.I.R.E
Also, how does it feel to be outscored 35-7 in 2 1/2 quarters? Embarrassing comes to mind.

They're going to tell you that they doubted Muschamp from day one.

Shut your cock-holster Vol. Grats on the win, but UT is far from "back".
Jesus these fricking UT morons on this board. One win against UGA and a ton of 4 Pt moral victory loses and its "we're back!"
Not yet arse clowns. We will see

Guess who lost this year with a 21 point lead?
Tennessee has blown all kinds of leads but not 21 points!

I did not. I still think that he will be a good HC one day. He needs to figure out roster management and balance on offense.
Edit: Coach Mac has the last two figured out. It remains to be seen if he can manage turnover on the defensive side of the ball.

Florida will own the East for the foreseeable future.

It's been a while since UF has had this sort of production from a first year HC. You have to go all the way back to...Muschamp.

Where do you people come up with this stuff?
Do I need to post Muschamp's record year by year at UF?
Frick, I'll just do his FIRST year.
7 and 6 (3-5 in the SEC)
Tell me how Muschamp's first year was like Mac's first year again.
This place is lala land.
You'd have to go all the way back to Spurrier's first year to compare actually.

My bad. That's the only year from Muschamp I remember.
I don't think that it will be this easy for UF every year, but it's nice to see y'all rebounding. Now just to see if McElwain has staying power.
