I know Bama fans mock the “cult” and “family” stuff, but I have always admired the toughness and grittiness you guys always with (especially against Bama).

When and where I grew up in small town Texas, aggies and aggy spawn were all over. Including among relatives and in my high school. So the rivalry with a&m was pretty much an every day, sibling style rivalry.
Most OU people were (compared to South Texas) way up north. I mostly had to deal with them connected with the Red River Shootout - 1 big game per year. They were out of my hair the rest of the year, particularly when I was still using a typewriter to write papers, and the internet (and decline of society) was not around yet…
