Wait. What? Heh.

Pork is the king of meat. Everyone else agrees.

They agree because that's what they're accustomed to. They're accustomed to pork because the South was poor back in the day, and pigs fend for themselves much better than cattle. That's it. That's the only reason. I like picking on Texans, too, but this one isn't on them. As soon as the subject comes up some nimrod from the SE jumps in about pork being the only "real" barbeque.

I don't believe you. You're chewing on sprouts right NOW, aren't ya?

This.
Plus, pork is what they know; just like beef is what most Texans know.

Southerners didn't eat pork "cuz they was poor." Pigs are easier to raise in hilly, heavily forested areas. Clearing out dense swaths of forest just to raise cattle is a waste of energy. Even now, I rarely see cattle farms here. Hogs and chickens, damn near everywhere.

Beef isn't barbecue, and men shouldn't be your only cheerleaders. Y'all do everything wrong.

How can you say pork is the "king" of meats when half the world won't eat it, and the bible says not to eat it?

I do anything the Bible tells me not to do. And it just tastes better with barbecue.

Never had the pleasure of going to Gainesville but fortunately I have been to Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Jackson, Knoxville, Memphis, Oxford, Chattanooga, Clemson, Charlotte, Asheville, Biloxi, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, DC, and Baltimore in the summer and none of those places was appreciably hotter or more humid than Houston. Our players will not give a shite about Columbia because it won't feel any different than what they are used to.

Agreed. Houston is the most humid place in the country.

Urban Heat Island Effect raises the temperature of the average temperature 5 degrees. All the buildings and shite, and being inland enough, there is no coastal breeze. And Houston has an average humidity of like 78 which is just as bad, if not worse than a swamp in Louisiana or Florida, but there isn't a giant mass of concrete, steel and glass blocking wind and trapping heat.

It truly is the most miserable weather in the country.

Downtown Houston has an entire tunnel system so people don't have to go outside during summer, similar to how cities in the upper Midwest have indoor walkways for the winter. Summer is absolutely terrible, I remember a couple summer ago when the hi/los were like 105/90 with 50-60% humidity.

This "rivalry" sucks, just a bunch of dudes talking about weather, meat and a group of guys getting together at midnight to grab their junk and yell at each other.

I'm going to have to go ahead and Deny the OP's Rivalry Application.
