What have you guys done........ever? You may be more valuable at this moment, but the hype with the SEC switch and us being historically bad is the reason. Nike elite status is reserved for teams that are historically elite. Which you are not. I'm sorry

Guess that's why we're one of less than 10 Nike elite schools. And you're stuck with second rate Adidas, a company that is having all it's major schools drop them.

We're Adidas because they've done great with our uniforms and pay us a shite ton of money and are reportedly really easy to deal with.

Also Adidas hired all of nikes best designers this past year.

Hahaha, ok. We had a great relationship with Adidas as well, but it didn't stop us from making the upgrade.

Like I said, it was probably the right move for y'all.

You made a short term decision because your coach would do anything in the name of recruiting because he knows that's his only chance.

Our Nike unis sucked. Our Adidas unis have been the best we've ever worn. Oh, and Adidas is paying us handsomely to wear them.

You can keep your fugly unis since you prefer the swoosh and being poor to looking fly and being rich. Not my alma mater, y'all do what y'all want

Our Nike unis are already better than Adidas managed to do in 17 years. If Adidas works for y'all then hats off.

Not sure how signing with Nike as a Nike Elite school is a short term move, especially since they are the preeminent brand in the industry.

Then hats off to y'all, as well

Money trolling aside, all I really care about at the end of the day are aesthetics. Adidas stepped up their game for A&M when we made the SEC move, and I've been very happy with the threads, especially when juxtaposed with what Nike used to roll out for us. Plus, Nike wouldn't pay us as much when we had them, so it wouldn't have been smart for us to keep 'em.

If the fanbases like their looks, it's a win

The posters on this all-doods board would rather whine about fashion, logos, stripes, and colorblocking (they're Kardashian groupies) and break-down other fans' game day attire on a message board, rather than read cogent economic discussions as to why this Adidas deal is the complete booyakin' for our university.

The Average tSECr mouth-breather, when approached by a non-Nike co.: "Oh, you mean your company will do our complete bidding for us and offer millions of $ more than what we earn under our current vendor?"

"Yessir, and we'll augment the equipment technology for your non-football athletes as well."

Average tSECr mouth-breather: "I'm sorry. We've talked it over with the pom-pom wavers, the chicken finger servers, and the platters of pimiento cheese sammies cadre, and they think it's more important that we go with a Nike Swoosh--you know, for Imaging purposes. We just don't want to be different from the other SEastern guys. You understand: We don't want anyone to think we're poor or grew up in the Delta or something (I have a Yeti decal on my truck to prove it.")

Pretty broad brush there. That is ok.

Nike is the leader in this area. Just how it is. Under Armor is probably second. If not second, just a huge momentum play. That company has come along way. Adidas is ok. Great soccer shoe I guess. They are known for soccer shoes right?

If it is just about money, then it is a great deal by Tx A&M. However, recruited athletes want to look like the Pros...and the Pros use Nike. Throw in Nike technology and other items.

Congrats on cashing in.

The stadium and the fans are just a small part of our university and fanbase doing everything in our power to put us in a position to succeed. That is why we went out and took your DC. That is why we took adidas's big money or not Nike's pennies. That is why when the Eagles and Trojans come after our HC we give him 5 M.

I would be worried if we weren't doing that. Say if our coaches were getting stolen, if we were hiring retreads, if we settled for a crappy OC, if we left games early and didn't truly support out team, and if we were stuck in a state that cannot fund its own state universities. Good thing A&M doesn't give me things to worry about.

While I prefer Nike shoes to Adidas shoes, frankly their isn't a difference in materials between the rest of the gear. Certainly not as much as the Nike retards on this board would like others to believe.

As for the design and aesthetic of uniforms they put out, a&m specifically, I've liked a lot of them. Sure Adidas has put out crappy designs, but so has Nike. If one company is going to pay significantly more than the other it's a no brainer quite honestly.

And while Nike > Adidas shoes, both are miles ahead of under armour kicks. And when it comes to running I'll take Brooks & Asics above the lot of em.

Yeah I favor Nike exclusively for my basketball shoes, but that's mainly because I have a specific style I prefer. Apparel-wise, I really don't give too much of a shite as long as it looks good. Nike did have a hard time rolling out a consistent Aggie maroon, so maybe that's why I'm biased against them, but Adidas just looks better on the field for us. The fact that they're paying TAMU well is just gravy--none of us on this board are seeing one red cent of that money, anyways

Quite true. In this era of ubiquitous alternates, you're gonna have lots of hits and misses no matter which company is outfitting you.

Agreed. Although I could go with either Asics or New Balance during my running days. NB had a good line of trail runners that I favored back in the day.

I actually liked the unis Adidas did for us the last two years, but I think by that time the admin had already decided to move in a different direction.

I was a big fan of y'all's smokey gray unis. Is Nike planning on keeping those around or do they have another alternate planned?

I do like that Nike is re-emphasizing y'all's checkerboard look
