y'all have come a long way in the last 3 or 4 years. that was the time where your athletic dept. was losing money and had to borrow money from the university.
but I guess y'all don't acknowledge that being from tejas and all.
and this deal is mostly for free equipmnent and apparel and is not worth much in money.

Give Adidas some of that money back and ask them to invest it in design R&D so the uni's look better in the future.
Link me a bad looking football uni for A&M

Exactly. Nike would have never given y'all top tier status. Nike has only given that to a handful of schools, Tennessee being one of them.
Also, Tennessee could have resigned with Adidas for much more money but chose not to. The reason being, Adidas isn't a top notch CFB company.
Tennessee also receives a higher royalty % from Nike for net merchandise sales this = millions
"Perhaps the biggest thing about Tennessee’s new deal with Nike, though, is how important Tennessee is to Nike.
Exact figures haven’t been — and probably won’t be — disclosed, but multiple sources have told GoVols247 that Tennessee is now one of less than 10 programs to be an Nike Elite program across the board in every sport. That’s rarified air, and it’s significant. It means Tennessee will be one of the few programs to have the newest bells and whistles available to it on an annual basis. Special occasions can now be even more special."
Whatever makes you feel good. I won't say anything about Tennessee as a program or state because, mostly, I don't care. A&M is growing its alumni base rapidly, the sec move has done a lot for exposure outside of Texas, and media accessibility inside Texas. More people buy our gear and watch us on tv than Tennessee.
I'm sure Nike was just chomping at the bit to work with pale puke orange though.
A&M 9th, Tennessee 16th in licensing
TV ratings: A&M 11th, Tennessee?

Top 5 = Blueblood, does it not?
I think we're too good for these yellow and violet, rat-eating lolpoors.

Your university is in a state with almost 30 million people, of course your tv and sales numbers are gonna be good. You'll see Tennessee's numbers go back up as we return to winning. I'm sorry Nike and most everyone else doesn't consider you a first tier program. That's why it was a good decision for y'all to stick with Adidas even though they aren't the top brand.
And again, if you puke Tennessee orange then I would recommend seeing a doctor, because in my whole life, I've never seen puke that color. I have seen sunrises and sunsets that color though.

I live in Texas and have much respect for both TAMU and Texas. TAMU's endowment as of 2014 was around 11 or 12 billion I think; Texas was at around 25 billion.
So...Both schools are rich; Texas is richer; and the Adidas money doesn't move the ticker much for you. What's the big deal?
I was thrilled when the Hogs went Nike. Much better stuff imo. But the Ags will get the full attention from Adidas and have such a huge fan base that this deal will be a win/win.
Congrats on the deal. Sadly, You guys are like my beloved Hogs: until we actually win this damned conference, neither of us really have much to 'crow' about. We rejoice about moral victories.
Personally, I won't really rejoice until we win the SEC
Moral victories are, and always have been, for losers.
You Ags should be better than this

Wait, you think that those two metrics which are most closely tied to value aren't important to Nike? Apparel sales and media exposure are the two most important things considered when an apparel company is looking at contracts. It's kind of the whole point. It's like saying Texas' economy is only great because of oil, or Apple is only profitable because of the number of users.
No I've never puked Tennessee orange, but I've never seen it occur in nature either.

Yes they were........
"Nike executives spoke of the UT apparel line as a labor of love. Kit Morris, Nike’s director of college sports marketing, said he was especially pleased to get Tennessee back.
“We have a great portfolio of partner schools, but there’s been a missing ingredient,” Morris said. “Bringing the University of Tennessee back into the Nike family is for me the fulfillment of a long-held dream.”

You've never seen a sunrise or sunset, autumn foliage?
"The Orange color is inspired by the common American daisy, which grew on the hill surrounding UT’s most notable building, Ayres Hall."

Of course they are going to say nice things about their newest contract. You could find almost identical quotes about Michigan as well. Welcome to marketing.
No, I don't think Tennessee orange looks like a sunset. Dead leaves, maybe.

Oh, I'm sure Nike would have loved to get a deal with you guys, you just wouldn't have been Nike elite status.

Pure speculation that flys in the face of all applicable measures.

Why wouldn't they? They just resigned two of the top programs in CFB history. Like I said, y'all made a good decision sticking with Adidas. As far as the schools they have now, you are near the top.
