Guy 1 got a hell of a football team and coach this year. Guy 2 has his nuts in a vice for trying to intimidate Guy 1 with no evidence!

You mention this constantly. For losers, yes, money is all that matters.
But across all walks of life, many people are driven to be the best at their craft.
Each year, one team has the right combination of talent, coaching, and character to be better than the rest. They are driven by much more than money.
They get paid the same(outside of bonuses for coaches) if they come in last or first. A drive to be exceptional can be found those organizations.
It is about much more than money.
