The people who run the sport - owners, administrators, coaches, etc. - knew about the problems the game was having and hid them under the rug. Then, when the problems were discovered by players and the general public, tried to put a band-aid on it by throwing the officials under the bus and making them call half-assed penalties.

I still like college football but it is true that they have kept monkeying around with the rules in the NFL so much that they have done more harm than good. I remember a few years back the fools couldn't even figure out what a catch was or not for awhile there. They certainly are going in the wrong direction.

As far as college goes, I think the strict limits they have on how much time they can practice has made the play a little sloppy early in the seasons but it gets better as the year goes along.

Hockey. There is no other sport that can compare.

Hockey is basically a demolition derby without the cars.

It’s a novelty sport that’s fun to watch once or twice but after the novelty wears off is even more boring than baseball.

If the ice rinks were maybe twice the size and the goal nets maybe 150%-200% of their current size, plus a few other tweaks here and there, it could become a viable sport with broader appeal.

ETA: The fact that fighting is allowed is little more than a gimmick that hardly even has any appeal with the rise of MMA (which personally I couldn’t care less about).

As for College? Well it's just the same two teams winning, Bama and Clemson. That's great for they're fans sure, but makes the rest of us want someone else to win eventually. At least with other sports you actually have parity.

Welcome on board the LSU bandwagon!

We have plenty of room.

I remember when I used to try and convince myself of this when I knew my team was about to lose that week.

It isn’t the same game now that we all once loved.

Pretty much agree there as the game is much different today; the rules have swung way in favor of the offense as most fans tend to love that and it drives up TV ratings. I barely watch the NFL at all though, much of it to do with all the off-field/political crap nowadays.

I still like watching college football despite the changes...but with the way things have been trending in recent years, with the attempt of Northwestern's team to unionize and now the 'Fair Pay to Play Act' bill in California, I fear college football may end up going down an ill-conceived road that might ultimately kill the game as we know it...
