First I just say that because y'all won it that year and if we would have beaten y'all ... that makes us defacto Champs
Second I think our two teams were the best in the SEC that years and yes I belive we could have beaten Georgia in the SECCG
Third You might be right about us not being able to beat Oklahoma but I do think we would given them a hell of a game, mainly because they don't have a SEC defense.
Finally as you said it's a moot point because because USCw would have gotten in instead of us ...

2005 Capital One Bowl - LSU vs Iowa.
Nick Saban's last game. Really wanted to send coach out as a winner. His last radio show in Orlando was really emotional.
The awesome comeback by JaMarcus came crashing down on Iowa's last play of the game. I still can't watch that play.

Absolute WORST I ever saw was that LSU Kentucky game where KY had the game WON and the LSU WR miraculously caught the hail mary for a TD. Kentucky fans were running around celebrating til they realized they had LOST.
Even as a TV viewer only, that one hurt to watch.

We were all thinking a championship that year. It doesn't matter that we got screwed in 04, we'd make it up in 06. Then this happened.

That wouldn't have mattered if ya'll had beaten UGA later on. An Auburn/UF rematch in Atlanta would've been great.
