Boise State's football program is hoping by not offering as many scholarships and shortening their practice times, they won't be hit with major penalties.

Oh, the old "Remember THIS game argument."

But, yes, let's PLEASE compare Bama and Utah.

Which factors would you like to use? I'll let you choose.

The 6th or 7th best team in our conference is the hardest team on Boisie's schedule. Doesnt that tell you anything?

Do you consider the UGA/BSU game Petersen's formal interview for the UGA job?

Hopefully not. I really hope Coach Pete stays for a long time.

Here's the thing. I read your board and think that way too many SEC fans have a superiority complex.

There was a thread going on about how the Boise State could not handle the schedule that teams in the SEC have. I agree. Right now, it would be VERY difficult to win the SEC. It's difficult for ANY team to win the SEC. Nobody argues that. Nobody argues that the SEC is a very good conference.

However, if Boise State was in the SEC, they would have better recruiting because they would have more exposure (the Mountain West will only make Boise's exposure worse. They have a ridiculous TV contract), better facilities (due to higher yearly revenue), and they really don't need a better coach because they have one of the best in the country. People say that once coach Pete is gone, Boise State will go down. Well, they said the same thing when Dan Hawkins left for Colorado and Coach Pete went undefeated and beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

So, perhaps Boise's first 3-4 seasons, they would be 8-4, but assuming the upgrade in Facilities and the exposure to recruits in that area, Boise would do fairly well.

I'm always surprised when the only thing people can hold onto is that they're in the SEC. The guy who was fueling the fire the other day in the Georgia vs. Boise St. argument was a Kentucky fan. Seriously? You're going to argue Boise st. vs. Kentucky? Yeah, maybe if we're playing basketball. But Boise St. > Kentucky in football. No doubt about it. Maybe your conference can beat the Mountain West/WAC, but Kentucky can't. Also, remember Wyoming @ Tennessee - 2008? The two worst teams in their conferences and Wyoming won?

Georgia beat Boise in 2005. 6 seasons ago. Let it go, people! I'm excited to go to the Boise St. vs. Georgia game (my wife is from Atlanta). Of course I hope we win, but if we don't, I will be a huge UGA fan and hope they win the NC game. If we win, I still hope UGA wins the SEC. After all is said and done, UGA is a good team and I hope they go 13-1 this year. Va. Tech didn't help us much last year when they lost to James Madison (their AD is an idiot for scheduling a game 5 days after their season opener).

Boise State isn't in the SEC.

And if they were in the SEC, they wouldn't be the overrated Boise State team that we all complain about. They probably would get better.

But right now, they're not, and they don't deserve shite. They're just a "good" team in a terrible conference.

Yes, Utah beat Alabama. In fact, I can even admit that kicked our arse in the Sugar Bowl. No excuses.

But you're fricking crazy if you think that means Utah as a program is anywhere near comparable to Alabama as a program.

We would go to PAC-10 if there was an invite, but there wasn't one.

And yet the PAC-10 invited... Utah.

If this doesn't raise questions in your mind, it damn well should.

Wonder why that would be...

SEC is 7-0 in BCS Championship Game, winning the last 5 with 4 different schools.

So pipe down, Boy-zee Boy.

Recognize the mad SEC skills.

The Salt Lake TV market is much bigger than the Boise TV market. Denver's TV market is, too. More viewership in those two areas.

Boise St. first started playing D1 ball in 1996.

1996.

1996!

Bama has been playing D1 (or the equivalent) since 1892.

What should we look-up next?
