We would be ahead in most meaningful categories and would also claim the most recent title....you know. The only thing Auburn fans cling to now?

Meh, we both have 3 SEC Championships since 2000, and Auburn won one national championship and been to another.

And we all know football started in 2000!

Here I was thinking the schools had been playing football for a lot longer than that. I love how people want to pick arbitrary time lines to fit their narrative. It's either the current year, or the entire history. Otherwise it is entirely arbitrary.

Some fans think football started in the 90's. Some in 2000. Some want to count last 10, 15, 20 years and just forget the rest of history. If you want to go back and ignore this year, then you go back all the way. if you want to pick a time frame that fits your narrative, then we get to pick the time frame that fits mine.

I mean, I get it. if you pick a certain time frame you can make Auburn look better. Pick all of history or this year, and not so much.

Unfortunately, us, too. Hopefully we can rectify that soon.

The other thing that amazes me is how many Auburn fans want to claim Georgia has underachieved. I mean, yeah. We have. We admit thta.

But Auburn sits in the same state as Alabama, and Alabama has 16 National Titles while Auburn has 2. Why? I mean, both schools are in the same state...have access to the same players. Everything is equal, but Alabama has 16 and Auburn has 2. Seems to me that Auburn has underachieved as much as Georgia has.

No one is ignoring the fact that we beat y'all 40-17. Sucks we had Pettway and Kerryon both out with injuries in the SECCG. I'd be more concerned with how you plan to duplicate 2600 yards rushing with your two RB's gone.

By recruiting more 5* running backs. We keep our RB room stocked with depth and talent unlike Auburn.

It'd be cool if we had our own state to recruitment from without competing against the two greatest college football coaches of all time in Bryant and Saban.

Well, this didn't happen.

Excuse you. Another thread on your board before the SECCG? Your guys were talking about bumping threads in which Georgia fans made excuses about the first game. Pot? meet kettle! "Injuries!" "Refs!" "Schedule!" "Tired!" You guys could at least come up with a new excuse.

Auburn. "Excuse University"!

Well if Georgia was as soft as Auburn I would be concerned, too. But we have D'Andre Swift, Herrien, Holyfield, Cook, and White, so I'm not too concerned. Fromm will have a full year under his belt and we return a much better OLine. Our offense will be just fine.

Pettway was out for most of the season and Johnson played in the SECCG. It was the same roster going into both games.

What really happened is Auburn didn't have home field in the second game and Georgia made a lot of gameplan adjustments, such as getting Michel and Swift on the perimeter a whole lot more often in the SECCG.

In other words you have underachieved. You could go out and get some coaches. Alabama apparently did.

I will give them that it hurt for Johnson to be injured. But it was a 40+ point turnaround, and they just can't bring themselves to admit that Kerryon did not make a 40+ point difference. That and they can't admit that Sony Michel was out of the second half with an injury.
Of course, D'Andre Swift came in and lit them up.

If auburn has underachieved in your eyes, what do you call Georgia?

BTW, got my Georgia teams scores mixed up in my last post.

Oh, no doubt we have underachieved. I already said this. We have just now corrected this. Did you know Gus had his worst recruiting class since he has been at Auburn?

I figured you just accidentally left the 1 out. It was 41-17....which truthfully isn't much better. And yes, one of our scores came in garbage time. Auburn dominated us in the first game. True, we shot ourselves in the foot with dropped passes, untimely penalties and fumbled punts, but it is what it is. It is a part of football, and Auburn easily outplayed us in that first game. It was demoralizing, and I admit I didn't think we could win in the second game.

okay

Didn't know they handed out trophies for recruiting and losing the national championship. This is the same crap I heard in 2002. New coach wins early and a dynasty is coming

Good luck

They don't. They do for the SEC Championship though.

Loved Richt. But he never, and i mean NEVER recruited like Smart. And that should scare the daylights out of you.

Know what should scare you more, though? You have a QB that gets scared when pressured and either holds on to the ball for a sack, or he throws the ball up for grabs. And you lost 4 out of 5 of our OLinemen and they were bad. We sacked Stidham 7 times in the SECCG, and you lost 4/5 linemen. That should concern you. A lot.

We just rehired the 2013 offensive line coach, the one that helped produce the greatest rushing attack in SEC history. We'll be fine.

Wow. can he go out on the field and play now? I mean, you will be starting 4 players who could not beat out the crap y'all had on the field last year. And how many did Gus bring in this class? Surely he replaced the 4 players you lost, right? Nope. he didn't. So in addition to having no talent you have no depth. You lost your two stud running backs and brought one good one in to replace them and you are worried about Georgia? We have 2-3 5* RBs on roster.

That crap helped us to 34 points per game last year. That was with a hack of an o-line coach, and all the while going through the West. The east sucked and Georgia still managed to avoid the big one. But you keep being excited and I'll wait until it happens, which if history tell us anything, I'll be waiting for a very long time.

Just looked up your boy Grimes. I saw his statistics at Auburn were:

2013-7018 total yards
2014-6305 total yards
2015-4810 total yards

Notice a trend there?
Was it because Grimes can't coach, or was t that the SEC was beginning to figure out Gus' offense? Either way, I wish you the best of luck with your award winning coach!

ETA
By the way...the year after Grimes left your offense put up 5720 total yards.

6300 yards in 2014 is a ton of yards. Usually there's only a couple SEC teams to break the 6000 yard mark in a season. 2015 was Jeremy Johnson at QB which was an epic failure. Hardly Grimes fault. Every year Grimes was there we finished the top 5 in rushing offense.

2017-6313 total yards

Again you are right. Then we went out and won the SEC. I think there was a west representative in that game.

Ah history! I love it when Auburn fans bring up history. because Auburn was 60 years in between titles, so if history repeats you should win another one in 2070 or thereabouts. And if history tells us anything we should win another one very soon. I mean, if history is what you want to go by in predicting titles.
