TLDR #frickTexas #HornsDown

I have spent the last week trying to create the most badass, fairest and greatest schedule that ever existed.. but in reality, after looking at Jimbo Fisher’s record (diff thread), I think some of my assumptions were false.
quote:

For purposes of this discussion.. let’s just get this out of the way so that my message is more clear..

Texas A&M 2020 Football > Texas 2020 Football

That being said, Texas A&M had a good team in 2020, but after digging into the details, they “appear” to be much better than they really are IMO..

7-0 Against Teams with a combined 19-45 Record

L to Alabama (expected)
W over Florida by 3 points (good win)

It was pretty much a 2 game schedule for them. They of course had to beat the teams that they are supposed to beat.. and they did.. therefore that is the sign of a good team. But are they great?

#4 is the best A&M ranking since WW2

Was this the best A&M team since WW2? I don’t think so.. But I think the schedule made them look that way.. THAT is part of the genius that is the SEC schedule..

Therefore.. my goal of making badass games every week and a fair schedule were wrong. The goal should be for 3-6 teams to look great.

After all.. if you can go 10-2 or better against an SEC schedule with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georiga..etc.. you must have a badass team!

So maybe they will go to the division format.. but I’ll be shocked if it is more than 9 games.

Less games = Less team losses = Better rankings for all teams

They might just add Texas to the West and Oklahoma to the East and make them permanent rivals..

This is way to long.. just wanted to give my opinion..
