This "everyone gets a trophy" mentality has clearly warped our minds in the 21st century. We have been taught since birth that if we give it our best shot we can overcome and accomplish anything. However, what we forgot along the way is that sometimes reality is a bitch. Sometimes our best truly isn't good enough. Sometimes we can do all the right things and still get screwed over.
It's an important life lesson that I hope these Florida State players will take to heart. It will help them going forward, not just with sports, but with everything else they do for the remainder of their lives. I think we need to absorb this lesson too but also take heed that a 12-team playoff format is arriving next season, thus making discussions like this moot in the future.

The only reason Alabama is in is because they lost their starting quarterback, and not that Alabama deserves to be in. if anybody is getting the benefit of entitlement it is 100% Alabama.

Nah. I realize it all too well. Alabama got screwed out of threepeats in 1966 and 1977 due to the subjective biases of voters. Alabama also had a playoff-worthy team last year but lacked the resume or the hardware to justify jumping a team that failed to win its conference.
