Alabama reciever getting held at the 2:10 mark

The penalty in image form on the bottom left

If you subscribe to the blocked punt theory then the missed false start penalty here must also be irrelevant in terms of impact on the game. Very clear hold that Georgia gets away with had the pass been incomplete

So instead of a game tying touchdown in your weird arse hypothetical that involves ignoring another Bama false start, you'd have still been down at least three points... And still scored a touchdown and declined the penalty... Weird counter melt...

By noting it in both the title and thread?

I said it all game. Officials missed calls for both sides. Two Georgia hits were to the head and should have been looked at. Holding by both teams every time a back went around the edge. Just no officiating at all. Horrible. Don't let the Big Ten back near our football games again please.

I'd bet you could call a holding on every play.

Even for a sports message board, this sort of thing is really chickenshit, and it pops up regularly on the Rant. "

"You only won because the officials made calls in your favor."

"Look at the calls they missed that hurt us"

"Just shut up, you need to stop defending yourselves"
Or (almost as often: "you won and you're talking about the officiating when trying to contradict my claims of cheating?")

It's a really pathetic way to avoid argument and it happens like clockwork around here

I hope y'all are getting screenshots of the atomic melt on the UGA board.

It's worse than the most viscous LSU melt.

There is an official thread to link and quote these... feel free to keep track there. Notes will be made for melts made in private on the team board rather than the rant... but still worth cataloguing.

It's not that you did it.. it's that you're ignoring context... the hold on that play changed nothing. You *scored* a touchdown... so if we're going to ignore the false start on that play *and* ignore the false start on the punt block, but correctly call the other penalties... you get:

Punt blocked (no offsides call made - False start ignored per your instructions) - UGA ball 1st down on the 18ish...

Declined defensive holding penalty, Bama still scores touchdown...

Net result, UGA has extra redzone possession that likely results in at least +3 points...

It just seems that if you were going to try and go down this road, it would be to point out something that would have substantively changed the results of a play.

Calls were missed all over the place. It happens in every game. Sure, it seemed like Georgia got the worse end, but the game is over. Nothing can change the outcome. Just hope these guys never come near an important game again.
