"doubt it Ole Miss is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. We have a coach and a program that will get us to the next level with the ability to beat Florida, Georgia and Alabama which will be necessary if we are to go to a good bcs bowl if not next year then 2010"

And Arkansas has beaten UGA and Florida how many times since joining the SEC in '92??

We just let the razorbacks into the SEC and they think they can dominate with Petrino. Nutt was gave them their best chance.

Ok...He's no Ed O but if that monkey with a RB can take a team to 2 SEC championship games than an upgraded coach can do better...

not as bad of a recruiter as yall think he is

Do not fricking compare 1 year at OM to what he did at UA...You have no clue and OM took advantage of a down year in the SEC and a coaching move that sent multiple recruits toward OM..

and yall are just bitter about the whole situation

We are bitter because we tasted success and never put in the energy to build on it any further

3 SEC championship games

Nutt took us to 2 and lost both.

Nutt is a monkey with a whistle. I'm tired of the "lil ole' Arkansas" BS.

We have money, we have facilities, we have fan support, we can draw in recruits and over a 6 year span our QB, Matt Jones, became the SEC all-time leading rushing QB and Felix Jones and Darren McFadden became the all time NCAA all-purpose yardage leading duo. McFadden also plastered his name all over the rushing record books ending up #2 and only a few hundred yards away from Herschel Walker. But Nutt went .500 in SEC play over these years with these phenoms and went 1-3 in Bowls.

Point being, ONE THING held us from our full potential and he is now at Old Piss. That monkey brained son of a bitch didn't do "more with less". He took more and did less.

Take that shite to the bank because it's the gospel fricking truth.

He was actually a little over .500 in the SEC which is good for Arky. At one point did you love him? I'm just curious because even if he has a couple so-so years I can't see myself hating such a good coach and more importantly an incredible man.

In 6 years with Matt Jones, Felix Jones, and Darren McFadden (whose stats are a the top of NCAA and SEC record books) and not to mention a Rimington Award winner in Luigs and All-Americans like Shawn Andrews, Nutt went 1-3 in Bowls and .500 in the SEC, lost to Vandy (twice), lost two SECCG's, and had a losing record on the road.

which is good for Arky.

I'm glad you are ok with mediocre football. We are not. Furthermore, if any other SEC team had those players and ended up with that record, the coach would be hung in a public court yard.

Season #1 and Season #2. The rah-rah hadn't worn off.

You are clearly new to concepts like pubic hair and frauds.

Nutt is no more "incredible" than those zits on your face.

That monkey won us nine games!

The last point is actually a very interesting one. The one big hurdle is the lack of in-state talent. Arky doesn't have the fuel that LSU and Florida have. There is a lot of potential in that program though, and Petrino is a good coach. I fully expect Arkansas to turn into a player in the SEC over the next few years. 2010 is the start of the rise of the Hogs.

2009 though, Ole Miss is still going to be better. Y'all have more work to do. That being said, I hope we beat the shite out of y'all to see Hawgalude's meltdown.

No shite -- you get a REAL football coach like Jim Grobe or Bobby Petrino and they WIN a National Championship with F Jones and D McFadden in their backfields. This is about the dumbest thread on SEC Rant. Ole Miss is a low tier SEC bottom dweller with a cheerleader for a head coach who will win against a Florida then lose to Utah State. They are mediocre their coaches accomplishments are mediocre -- a match made in mediocre heaven.....

You do realize during Nutt's time at Arkansas the Mississippi schools didn't suck right? Miss. State was good in the late 90s and Ole Miss was decent under Eli and Tubby. It's not like the last three years was the way it was for the past 12.

You need a defense and a decent quarterback to go with that. Don't get ahead of yourself, Nutt probably didn't milk those two for what they were worth, but c'mon!

Duke you are a level headed poster but it's probably best to focus on Nutts accomplishments at Ole Miss because he was a failure at Arkansas.

Ole Miss can love him. We have every reason to loathe the bastard.

.500 SEC record, 1-3 in Bowls, 2 SECCG losses, two losses to Vandy, and a losing road record over a 6 year span with Matt Jones, Felix Jones, Darren McFadden, Shawn Andrews, and a Rimington Award winning center in Luigs (to name a few).

He ran off Gus, pissed off all of NW Arkansas with his treatment of Springdale players.

His 10 years at Arkansas reads like a failed resume. Losing record against the Top 25, losing record to Vandy, losing road record, 2-6 in bowls, 2 SECCG losses, and enough "moral victories" to make any fan kill themselves.

If you guys like him, great. Enjoy him. But we have every f'ing reason under the sun to curse the day we hired him.

I remember one ESPN analyst during that season commenting that Houston Nutt's offense is like that of a Peewee league were you come up with all these unique and creative schemes to give the biggest kid on the team the ball.
