Strange how California is not higher on the list. I thought they were supposed to be a national recruiting hotspot. I guess they are in terms of sheer numbers, even if not on a per capita basis.

Iowa os prob offensive and defensive line...they are very well feed in Iowa it seems.

Football is a sport that places heavy emphasis on physical aspect such as size and athleticism. Certain groups have that in spades.

Arkansas puts more emphasis on high school basketball than football.

It was the opposite in the past but due to population decline, political dysfunction and economic issues, athletes that would have played football ended up playing basketball.
