Unless your Greenbay or Chicago you can only make an old one last so long.

agreed. The superdome can stay if you go that route.

How come this never happened with a freaking major league baseball team there but is going to happen with Ga State football as the anchor? Part of the problem with Turner field is that it was a wasteland around it and NOW they are going to be able to revitalize and bring in other commercial, recreational, and higher end residential? How are they doing this?

New braves stadium has this, the reason is sustainability from the local neighborhoods. Ga St can now inject their student population in the area of turner to make that area viable.

quote: Turner Field is not abandoned quote: They've begun renovations for Georgia State football Sounds pretty close to abandonment.

Almost 300 million in renovations and additional construction slated for the Turner Field property (change turner into 30k football stadium, new baseball stadium beside it, several classroom buildings, etc.) that area will have more life and money flowing thru it in 5 yeas than it ever has. Georgia State is the largest school, student wise, in the state. While they don't have a big football following it will grow and they will have beer at the new GSU stadium.

NOLA was able to make enough renovations to the Superdome after Katrina that they are able to host major events.

NOLA only get events because it's NOLA. The updated Superdome would be a liability almost anywhere else.

After the Braves left? Hell, all of the new development should have been done BEFORE the Olympics.

GB/KC/CHI have all been redone and are practically new stadiums.

no idea if Buf plan to renovate.

Superdome will get rebuilt when the NFL tells them they need to replace it in order to get another.

although, With Las Vegas getting a team and soon to be super bowl, the city may feel the need to update in order to not let LV take away their edge as having the hotel and entertainment reputation.
